Learned much more about the scope of *NSYNC merchandising than I ever wanted to this morning.

Hardest To Resist: Rare, Early Candid Video Footage
-However wrongly, I love this sort of thing. Ostensibly, this isn't a tape some psycho stalker made, so it's not the same as pictures taken of private moments from behind bushes. But, Chris and Joey at Universal! A dinner date with all five of them at Planet Hollywood before they were hocking it! Tour bus goofing! Interviews with each other! Baby.Footage. Before They Were Rock Stars without the fancy editing and sound effects. *sits on hands*

Most Cruelly Tempting: Justin's issue of Arena Homme
-Want this magazine. Like, a whole lot. Newsprint is my weakness. Seen most of the pictures, sure, but it's one that I'd like to own for real. Would so jump on it if I had the $40 to throw around, but alas.

Most Disappointing: Collector's Boxed Set of CD Singles & more...
-The seller recently changed their identity and has no feedback rating. I've been burned on eBay before, ergo no bidding on uncofirmed sellers' items. Shame, too - three of the discs alone would add up to the total package price.

Point of Interest: the entire run of Emerald Cove from the Mickey Mouse Club
-My love for MMC!JC knows no bounds. Just the sweetest, sunniest, talented goober ever! There are still four days left on the auction and I'm sure the bidding will get pretty high though.

Tackiest Temptation: Inflatable Chair
-Yeah, I really have no excuse. Never jumped on the trend when it was the big thing on account of its raging impracticality, but now, the happy orange of this easy chair beckons.

Having the Greatest Possibility of Profound Coolness: Celebrity tour road journal gift book
-Apparently only given out to opening acts and those at the highest level of involvement with the tour, it has backstage pictures and other commemorative features. I, having access to an absolute *glut* of that sort of thing in the way of soundcheck and concert pictures, am unjustifiably tempted.

Most Blatant Abuse of Licensing Rights:
-It's a tie between there being different editions of BobbleHeads for the United States and Canada, two versions of bear beanie babies, and two sets, with one being "rare", of the marionettes. The sheer volume of timekeeping devices alone is staggering. This is probably not a good time for me to be in need of a watch.

Oddest Item:
Apparently, the guys have their own Magic: The Gathering cards.

I am not tempted by signed memorabilia. There's no magic in not having been there for the event, you know?

Oh, and sorry to spam your LJ, but have you tried www.amazon.com for your *NSYNC single needs? They've got just about everything, and if you buy used (which I've had great success with), you can get a lot of rare CDs at cheap prices. Works for Backstreet, too, of course.

Good luck!

First of all, nothing but lovelovelove! for the video your icon is capped from. All told I'm not a Backstreet person, but I loved that before knowing either of the groups even existed.

Yes, I may have lived in a cave for about three years in there. No clue how I missed it all, but making up for it in spades now.

I know Amazon sells pretty much everything, but it can be heinously expensive at $10 for a single, you know? And as far as used, see, I already download a shameful amount of music (which is more a reflection of my being a college student on a budget than anything else) so if I do like an artist enough to buy their CD, I do so from a retailer, which means the royalties get back to the artist. Appreciation is one thing, but showing it is the bottom line.

You're right; it is a quandary... buy new and pay out the ear for only three or four tracks, or buy used and know that your money doesn't go to support the artist.

I try to keep an eye on Amazon, so I'll let you know if I spot any sales. :-)
