I am very surprised that you experienced such open hostility, and like you said, in Hollywood. Are you sure you didn't have a grotesque booger hanging out of your nose? Maybe the looks were imagined? Whatever the case, if what you perceived is true, then I am appalled. In this day in age, I'm surprised anyway would find ethnic mixing threatening.
This the story of my public life, however. Shannon (http://www.concubine.net/photography/images/0223_shannon.jpg) and I always have an audience, and although we deal with open scorn and rude comments everyday, I have very little advice to offer someone in a similar situation. Just take it in stride and walk with your head high, knowing that you're a better person than the gawkers. ;P
