Harumph. So it's Ruben. I mean, playing by my rules wherein every choice but Clay becomes a matter of least evils, yeah, it was definitely Ruben. But like others have said, he simply does zip for me as a performer, and though indisputably good, he's not anything I'd stand up ovating for as a singer. He looks like he's walking through his songs, mostly doing them justice but not making them his own in any way, and certainly not putting the kind of A-game power behind them that Clay has brought each week.

Clay has been consistent - consistently better, that is. He takes the judges' advice, stepping it up each and every night. That *voice* - it's just meant to do incredible things, Broadway being the rightful esteemation (not a word, it is now) of his abilities as perhaps one of the few venues to properly showcase it. It took a five-second clip on VH1 to get me to fall in love with the boy. Clay has the stage presence of a star and his own kind of genuine talent that has made phenomena of people like Frank Sinatra to Eminem. He's going on to greater things, and I for one am on board for the ride.

And while I wish him well, Ruben is not a pop star, which Simon has said from the beginning is what this show was about finding. In that vein, it shouldn't have been Clay either - his voice is too big for anything but fulfilling his Broadway baby destiny. So it goes. To end on a Clay note though, *classiest* concession ever.

Good job, everyone. Well, maybe not Ryan Seacrest.

For me, it's pretty much a good parts version scenario, so the title would be more appropriate as The Clay Aiken and Simon Cowell Show. I never watched a single episode of last season, and have caught only the last four or so of this one. Probably will not be watching next season unless there's someone that jumps out at me the way Clay did. *shrug* Most "reality" TV is bunk though, Survivor and The Real World being my admittably notable exceptions, though I hear The Amazing Race is really good, too. *shrugs again* Save for two shows, I just don't watch TV.
