on my merry way then
Mar. 1st, 2002 11:57 pmmy fellow greyhound folk snooze all around, though not one with the slightest regard for any possible new acquisitions. good thing i like the back. the soft blue glow of the lavatory light casts a feeling that one is no longer earthbound but soaring on a fantastic voyage - the supersonic whine of the engine beneath my feet confirms my assumptions, and i glace about to see if anyone else suddenly fears for the safety of their body cavities. alas i am alone in my musings, save for a lone little girl one seat ahead to my right - her bright, fiery cirls are massed in a loose bun, her eyes sparkle with youth but also telling of burdens borne. she's tucking in her little brother and inquiring of her mother in the seat behind what she would like from the snack counter at the approaching rest stop. her mother couldn't be more than 29, almost a child herself. the guy in the seat next to me is decked out in the obligatory D&D and Anime costume of the "geek" subculture, but the music blaring from his earphones is distinctly modern dance and hip hop. oh the lives of the dissatisfied with their lot in life. i say embrace what you've got going or switch genres. and on that note, it's time to make with the unconsciousness.
