Justin Month, Day Twenty-Seven

I love his expression here, the slight awe and maybe longing. That there are ways in which Justin is just like any of us. I think we might be back to my thing about Justin wanting, but it's somehow more poignant when it's someone who can pretty much have anything he wants. It's the things that are truly out of reach for him, so while we may want something, it's probably not as impossible or intangible as his.

Passage by Lesa Soja

"Why don't you bring this boy over so I can meet him," Justin's mom said, and his heart jumped inside him. His mom was the coolest - she'd let him do voice lessons, and the pageant, and the Mouse Club, lots of things he'd wanted and most mothers would never go for. But he'd been nervous all over again asking her for this.

"You're gonna like him, Mom, I promise," he said, throwing his arms around her neck. She squeezed him tight and kissed his forehead.

"I'll like any friend of yours, baby," she said. "So let's just see how this goes."

I really liked that this story spanned the European timeline, whether taken from snippets we know or just pictures floating around. It was also my first brush with the insinuation of Lynn/Chris, a concept I find so very, very intriguing in its potential effects on Justin.
