I stumbled on this ( Heat spoiler ) close to two months ago completely inadvertently.
Needless to say it made me more emotional than the throes of PMS.
Luckily I was online, as was my friend and gradual Smallville convert Nia. And she of the level head and deliciously creative thinking actually managed to make me see this as a good development by the time all the laughing and postulation was done.
She made me laugh, people. We went from the brink of hysteria from ( speculation ) to choked-up, tearful amusement. She rocketh above and beyond.
I received a phone call from a dear friend nearly in tears early Friday afternoon, lamenting that she, too, had just stumbled on said spoiler. Now, I've stayed away from anything even remotely possessing the possibility of being a spoiler ever since, so all I have are the loose rumors that were floating around on August 2nd.

Snipped surprisingly (it was past two in the morning by the time we called it) intelligent discussion about RPS, its lamentable decentralization, reading fic before seeing the show on which it's based, Lex's education (the canon for which goes all ways but logical), Lex and Lance in a bathroom and in what kind of twisted universe of circumstances that would lead to sex, and the descent into popslash fandom. Great conversation.
There's to be ( stuff ) involved, so far as stuff's leaked over the grapevine. Interesting that Clark's affectation seems to be ( promising ) ;) As far as proximity to the events of the premiere? Might be an ingenious move. Lex isn't in a good state of mind, Clark will pout and feel an overwhelming sense of abandonment like when Chloe hooked up with Crush boy, and this all might end up in a closet with lots of heavy breathing.
I am nothing if not an optimist.
