My evening with Jon was fabulous, as usual. He's a good, generous hugger for a guy, and has great taste in Oriental food. We talked about sharing a campus next year and what the hell we were doing with our respective existences.
About what the fuck it is that we're foolish enough to attempt to do with our lives and at what cost to the mental health of our parents. It's becoming harder and harder to acknowledge that even if I go to graduate school, it won't be with Miranda, and that's gonna be hard. I mean, it really meant the world to hear her say, "Do you really think you'll have to look in a phonebook to get my address when we're forty?" in her lovingly patronizing tone the other day. But the reality is, nothing is certain for us after the next two (possibly three) years are up.
Jon comes from a cooking family, and even if not in the mood I'm fairly certain I can count on him to be obliging, and he's applied to live in my area, so there might be more sophisticated dishes than the canned soup and eggs sort in the future.
*sigh* We'll figure something out.
In other news, I'll Never Stop is the same song as I Want You Back, just different lyrics set a quarter beat faster. *checks her facts* Yep, Max Martin productions all. Heh.
