Say what you will about diabolical!Lance but his body language continues to be a total give of the well-raised Southern dork that he is. The duck-and-blush is a particular favorite of mine. Look at his lovely pink cheeks, the toothy smile, the downcast eyes! He's dressed for business, gets around like the savviest of them, and yet Kelly has succeeded in reminding us all that somewhere in there he's still only a young twentysomething with a fair complexion. Such adorably delicate sensibilities, indeed.

“This is a bad idea,” Jimmy says, afterwards. He’s still draped all over JC, covering him, arms and legs tangled together, and JC’s heart rabbiting in his ear.
“Yeah,” JC says. “That’s why I stayed away.”
“You’re too attached,” Jimmy says. “This isn’t fuckin’ Pretty Woman. You can’t save me.”
“I know,” JC says. “I know.”
“We can’t keep doing this.” Jimmy presses his face into JC’s shoulder and feels his arms tighten around him. “It’s not a good idea.”
“You said that,” JC points out.
“Yeah,” Jimmy sighs.
It's a remix of Em's Stay the Night, also known as the Fic That Consumed A Fandom. You should read both, though I might prefer this by sole virtue of the kissing discussion.

“Your friend Joey seems to think you would be better off without me,” Jay said that night in the calm darkness afterwards.
“I already tried that,” JC said.
Uhm, yes. This story may have left me weeping with happiness. Maybe.
