And irony is a world-class bitch that can go bite the big one anytime now.
It's the morning of my birthday when I get whiff along the grapevine that another one of these last-minute JC club shows was announced to be taking place in Fort Lauderdale that night. I barely go to classes, jump in my car, make the drive down in record time, and get into the club with a big smile and wave from the bouncer. So we're all packed in there and it's small and amazing and ohmygodJC! when he comes out. He's smiling hugely, in a really good, relaxed mood, and asks if there are any other birthday people in the house. I squee and throw my hand in the air. He calls me onstage and I make my way through the thick crowd until I'm right there against the barricades and I hand him my ID. If anything, his smile gets even bigger and he offers his hand to hoist me up, proceeds to give me a hug, and lifts the microphone to his lips, ostensibly to start the show by paying proper tribute.
Cue the merciless blaring of my alarm clock. *resists chucking it across the room*
There's a reason why I didn't update for the past couple of days at all. The parts worth mentioning:
-Lance has a very nice house but I wouldn't be able to take the walking tour much less live there and maintain any sort of decorum.
-Airfare to Houston is $208, and that's a whole lot of tempting even though he might appear later this spring in Cape Canaveral. Road trip plans may or may not be in the works anyway.
-My new insta-happiness is Joey! In! Grease! It's the way we are feeling, yo.
-Coding for the mood theme is such a tedious process. However, while going through some old papers and thinking about my writing productivity in the past few months, I might have enough to merit a personal archive, which means updating my site. This is a double-edged sword, both daunting and encouraging.
-I blew off Advertising without the slightest remorse because Tiffany Rawlins posted new fic, passionate and beautiful Bassez at that with this summary:
Universal invariants: So if JC never auditioned for MMC and there was no *nsync for Lance to join, JC would still get lost in his own head, and Lance would still be figuring out how to make things happen. They'd still be all fated and shit, though.
-The cover of US Weekly with Justin and Cameron kissing on the surfboard is seven kinds of very, very sweet even if I don't really care past 'he's looking better and happy.'
-BT's video is very pretty, but there isn't nearly enough nor well-enough spliced JC in it. The whole thing should've been the two of them walking through their ethereal landscapes looking for each other, all culminating in something reminiscent of Up Against the Wall. I'm just saying'.
-Dinner at Cafe Gardens was wonderful in all ways, as always.
-Met an adorable gay boy last night while doing my laundry at four in the morning.
Big hugs to
isilya and
walkingshadow for all they did yesterday. It's going to take a lot to make it through this week without crying.
