Because my body is weird and doesn't know what's good for it. Usually this is not too much of a problem because I get some fairly decent writing done. Tonight, however, I seem to be hung up on the fact that I'm alone in my own bed.

Shockingly enough, since I hadn't gone out last night nor have any steady reason to be sharing it, I know.

Obviously, it's That Time, so pretty much ignore the sappiness of the coming couple of days and everything will right itself again.

Still. I can be somewhat of a personal space/time-guarding type, but sometimes I do miss having someone in my life to that extent - being cute, couply, and the fun amount of codependent. Right just now, I miss sleeping with and waking up next to someone I want to be there in the morning as much as I did the night before. That doesn't sound like a lot, does it?

'And yet' is such a damnably apropos phrase.

It seems that invariably, it is the days when I decide to blow off checking the friendslist that someone's on TV and I don't get the announcement. Meh.

Footage Request: If anyone has a rip/bootleg of the PopOdyssey The Game Is Over performance, audio or video, I'd do very frowned upon in certain circles things for it. Or just thank you kindly, if that's more your bag.

SNL was obviously a fluke last week, because this Saturday was such the disappointment. Halle Berry was not good, and the show on the whole was not funny. Also I remain convinced, however mistakenly, that Brit could sing if they'd only let her. On an unrelated note, homegirl can move.

Speaking of, I saw the shirt that Justin was wearing during the Punk'd skit at the mall Saturday. The full text reads Jesus is My Homeboy. *giggle*

The Marlins won game one of the Series! I won't pretend to be a baseball fan but hometown solidarity I can do. Go fish!

I bought Coconut Rum as my first serious alcoholic purchase and realized that, as there would be no human way to drink it straight up, it looks to be tropical rum & Cokes for the duration. Lance would be envious.

Shopping List )

Straaange Amazing Race-type dreams last night. Woke up just in time to meet the roommate's nearest and dearest, who helped move her in. They definitely made a lot of the little space. Shall see how things progress.

Upon my umpteenth listen to Some Girls Dance With Women, I realized the second line of the bridge is "all trussed up on what you feel," and my insulin levels shot sky-high simultaneously with that chest-tightening love emotion. Had to sit down for a moment. Trussed up! Like Thanksgiving turkey even! *loves on him*

All the pictures from Jamaica have been excellent fun, too. Have I mentioned Joey looks fantastic, save the godawful facial hair? Lance is his usual fabulous and glowy self, and the birthday boy couldn't be more delightfully not his age at all. Chrissopher! Dirty boy with the pylon on his head. Did he get in a tussle with it or something?

Started Betty's seahorse story - already one of the cutest things ever only half of the first section in. Plus, as Miranda would say, you get the Bassez for free!

The step class yesterday afternoon was grand, even if I didn't manage to do the final combination right even once.

I wrote a lot of code last night. To be fair, so did [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow, who probably deserves almost as much credit as I do on the project at this point. She's a wonderfully enthusiastic audience.

My windows are open, as they have been for the past couple of weeks. Autumn brings this wonderfully crisp smell to everything, in addition to the cooler temps. It's around this time of year that one can truly appreciate walking around campus.

Also, this is a GIP, again with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] powrhug. His mouth has that smirky edge, which is entirely foiled by the heinousness of all those colors in his ensemble. Good try, Justin.

[ETA: Just remembered that there's no history of journalism today, a free movie at Eastern Federal tonight, and the Stats quiz doesn't close until 5:30. Huzzah! I'm thinking early afternoon coffee downtown, which sounds a lot like like heaven.]

Like many others, I had a fantastic time at this summer's Challenge for the Children V. This started out as a commemorative icon set, but by the time I took a breath it was well into the twenties, so, mood theme. However, LJ only has 132 listed moods, which are both somewhat repetitive and not nearly encompassing enough. This theme rounds out at 205. Some of it is self-indulgent, some of it is gratuitous, but I (and others) often find ourselves in need of most.

The icons for moods not included in the drop-down menu will still appear if you type the particular mood into the text box.

Jules' Challenge for the Children V Mood Theme

This wouldn't have looked half as spiffy without the help of the perennially fabulous [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow, who practically godmothered if not midwifed this project. Thanks also to everyone who provided suggestions and listened patiently along the way.

Anyone (you must have a paid account though) is welcome to use it - I only ask that you drop a comment saying you are.

The philosophy behind making this was simple - find the best picture for each mood. Of course each of the five guys are represented, though not necessarily equally given the number of photos snapped of each (and believe me, I got as many as humanly possible from about a thousand sources.) For the record, what disparity there is isn't nearly that of the population I worked from. Each of the ten pairings is also included, as well as a few miscellaneous but memorable images from that weekend.

As a possibly interesting aside, as anyone who's made any kind of *NSYNC mood theme knows, these boys don't lend themselves to negative emotions. Ergo, those are mostly improvised and the context conveniently edited out.

All 205 moods, in alphabetical order.

I'M GOING TO JACKSONVILLE!

You heard right, kids. October 30th my tushie will be at the University of North Florida bright and spankin' early at 9 a.m. to swear to being a non-Communist, service-willing, law-abiding non-alcoholic, who is a monogamist in good standing, uninvolved with any "unlawful, commercialized vice," and of the utmost unimpeachable character so they'll in return give me a certificate and the right to not have my vote properly counted.

I can't wait.

Possibly, but it's doubtful.

My coats! I've got my heavy winter coats again, and actually, they fit me better this year than last, though I would've sworn I've gained weight. Go figure that. Or you know, not look the gift horse in the mouth, as they advise.

Witness Miranda's continued indulgence of my OTP. Total surprise, too! Consequently, I've had On the Line in my head all day, but really, wouldn't you? Joey! Lance! JoeyLanceSquee!

Jon did so well on my Stats quiz! 10/10, and he might have even managed to teach me some of his trade secrets along the way. Excellent job, babe. ;)

As mentioned earlier, I only had one class today. Did a crossword puzzle which I finished with mercifully only five minutes of class to spare. There really would've been no staying awake otherwise. And a free showing of Veronica Guerig tonight at Royal Park! Jon and I are gonna make it a night. Whoot!

Oh, right. Finished The Mood Theme this morning!

JC's been announced as a performer at Y-100's Jingle Ball (with Clay Aiken and Maroon 5)! JC! Jingle Ball! I am seven kinds of so, so there. It's the same venue that Justin performed at, too, so it'll be even more of a fun little romp. Also, they just announced that Sugar Ray will be performing at Gator Growl, so Miranda and I might make it across the street for that after all.

Finally, also as already noted, I'm going to celebrate Halloween as a citizen! *throws more confetti* I'm this intoxicating mixture of ecstatic and relieved that's got me exclaiming "I'm going to Jacksonville!" randomly. Whee!

There's a Pirates sequel in the works with Johnny, Kiera, and Orlando already signed on. *meeep*

This weekend will be celebratory dinner on Friday night, JC emceeing the Tampa concert on Saturday, and probably footage to the gills on Sunday. It's only Monday, you say? Fie on the rest of the week, man, it couldn't matter less.

And now, our undisputed Quote of the Day, with thanks to [livejournal.com profile] ladyvyola:

"I've been lucky because I do regard myself as a slightly aging character and I've been able to be in scenes with delightful women like Kate Winslet, Cate Blanchett, Salma Hayek... It's been a perk of the job. And the prettiest of all, of course, was Johnny Depp."
-Geoffrey Rush appearing on The Sharon Osbourne Show, talking about his on-screen liaisons

I really should've known not to call my day so prematurely. The goodness just kept on coming.

"You fascinate me."

When we left off, Jon and I were heading to a, as it turns out, mythical showing of the new Cate Blanchett film. Undeterred, I decide we're staying for Intolerable Cruelty to which Jon, amicable sort that he is, agreed.

Laughed. Our. Asses off. George Clooney is so, so the man. The movie was clever and sweet with a biting, satirical edge. Lots of fun, highly recommended.

"Let the record show that the defendant has indicated that silly man."

Dinner was at Ballyhoo's because it was just a seafood kind of night. Alligator, I've finally determined after a moral bout as to whether eating it would be cannibalism, tastes like pork with a more beef-like texture, a bit salty but excellent with barbeque sauce.

Okay, most of you probably knew but I had no idea that the song they used for the Barry Gibb Talk Show is an actual Bee Gees song. I almost spurt water all over Jon when Nights on Broadway came on in the restaurant, and was better off not putting anything else in my mouth for a good minute afterward.

"My God, Marylin, you're exposed!"

Our new ultimate catchphrase. There's specific intonation and a full-body gesture involved, and it's just fun.

Got the ultimate in choice parking when we came back to campus. Choice parking at 10:45? Yes, my friends, it was just that kind of day. It's the last of three parallel parking spots by the stadium, the one that's not visible until you're all the way to the stop sign of the lot in front of it, this little tease of a rectangle that never satisfies. Well, tonight was my lucky night, apparently.

"I'm a lot like you, just looking for an ass to mount."

Apparently, Basement Jaxx have gone from defensively praising JC to openly wanting to work with Justin (even if their intentions regarding him aren't entirely honorable.) *shrug* I'm all for these boys getting good press for collaborations with "legitimate" artists. Whatever, man.

Managed to get hold of most of Teen Nick as well as this weekend's E! segments with Justin. Big kudos to my generous suppliers. As with any footage I mention here, feel free to drop me a line on AIM (MoonBrat42) and I'll gladly hook you up.

If I were superstitious or paranoid, I'd be afraid of a huge bad karma smiting in my near future. I instead continue undisturbed on my merry way.

"Love is good."

Also, far be it for me to deny my sapness, so as [livejournal.com profile] starsprinkles pointed out: )
