Apparently, I am going out for Guys & Dolls, a venture that stands to break my heart in the short run, but one for which I'll absolutely hate myself for not even trying. I can sing! I can dance! We're not talking lead here - I just want to be a part of it.
Today happened with no particular bang. It was pleasant enough, to be sure, and my hair is doing this cute but completely out of character curling thing in the front. KickBo was fine, but I don't know if it's for me. Smallville's dream sequence with Lex and Clark was contrived and left me tearing at my hair, though the rest of the episode was well done. Also, it can't be said enough just how good a wet Clark is. Mmm.
walkingshadow is an evil insinuator of irresistable thoughts that have consumed no fewer than three hours of my life tonight alone and stand to do a lot more damage before they're through with me. Three words for you: high school AU. Oh, look at the pretty picture of Lance sitting on the curb waiting for his after-school ride, she says. I squee along and paste in another one where he's sitting back on some stairs, laughing in the drama room...
And before I realize what's going on, Joey is the senior drama darling and best friends with JC, the school photographer, while Justin will have to settle for playing some obscure chorus role like Boy #2 despite his school-long resume because he's a lowly freshman. Chris comes in as the eccentric new acting teacher/play director who's probably going to have them do Zombie Prom as the spring musical and casts utterly inexperienced, elective-credit-needing Lance as Eddie Flagrante because he's the closest thing they've got to a true baritone.
The only reason at all why this will happen? Well, two. One is that we've got pictures for practically all the main plot points. Two is that this is most decidedly going to be JoLa, and for such a hardcore OTP girl, I really am not exemplary in contributing to my cause.
