Monday was fun, and I say that with a straight face. No history so yay for sleeping in after not getting home until 1:45 Sunday night. The boy called, my illness seeming to deter him none from wanting to see me. He actually suggested dropping by at 10:30 to wake me up so I could study for my French test. This is all either bizarrely sweet or overly clingy, as I barely want anything to do with myself, much less actively pass my germs on to someone else. Also, in case he hasn't noticed, I grab any sleep I can, any time I can, even without the illness that has rendered me incapable of a full night's sleep since Wednesday. Told the roommate that if anyone called, I was dead.

Yeah, there's going to be at least a talk, if not more, going on there.

Anyhow, test was fine, went home, wrote (mmm, writing), watched more of the Janet/Justin media blitz unfold on CNN, then hauled more-or-less conscious self to work. Which was great - our shifts are two nights a week, but some people work three and I was under the impression that that's a sort of promotion you work your way up to. Imagine my surprise when Kelly was trying to negotiate the schedule of a new hire and I offered to work Wednesday nights in addition to Sunday and Monday, at which she promptly squeed, demanded why I didn't offer before, and demanded a hug.

Then, about two minutes later when I had to go to the production room because my jumpline was too long for the headline writing program (they ended up having me add column lengths - didn't I get into journalism to get away from math?) Cameron called me his new hero. Hm, guess not everyone who works at the office wants to be there. Which I suppose is somewhat logical given the crap hours and slave wages. But come on! It's the Alligator! But then, I make no secret of my masochist streak.

Also, my work-related training continues. Today, Kelly declared me a natural at spinning (not twirling) a flag. It's all in the thumbs and wrists, baby. Whoo! I can be a majorette yet.

I'll spare you most of yesterday... )

Current news:

-Love JC's album cover. Lovelovelove. It's warped and sexy and vulnerable and dangerous all at the same time and pushes buttons I only somewhat knew existed. Mmm.
-Am still sick, with occasional coughing fits and runny nose no matter how high I dope myself on medication.
-Am also thoroughly sucked into Flesh Mechanic with no time to finish it in sight. Ditto for the friendslist. Hopefully, it's a short paper again.
-Apparently, the Oasis song I've been desperately looking for doesn't exist on any CD available in the greater Gainesville area. *weep*
-Will lay extensive smackdown on FCC and its ridiculous measures being taken regarding the halftime incident (the cancellation of JC's performance not being the least of it) and why. Grr.
