liz_w on her belated birthday. Well, to be precise, her birthday was on time - the lameness is all me. T'was lovely spending Challenge with you, and I hope the coming year is a good one that brings more of the same.
Ha! This is unequivocally the best thing ever. I mean, besides the part where hurricanes and death are bad, but I'm suddenly taking all the tongue-in-cheek talk about divine intervention to sway the Florida vote a little more seriously (thanks totrollprincess for the link).
Y'all have been keeping me (and I'm suredigital_diva) amused all day with your talk of JC and Eva at the Emmys last night. I'm all, really? Could've sworn I spent it working out, heating up leftovers for dinner, and watching the most eminently forgettable episode of Star Trek ever. Gotta have a talk with the alter ego about who gets the good times with boys in bowties around here.
Also, since Harry/Remus as it exists continues to make the baby Jesus cry, I seem to have taken it upon myself to rectify the situation.walkingshadow was very encouraging about my ideas over lunch at Fritanga, where I understood less than half of what I ordered but everything happily turned out just fine.
Weather today was simply gorgeous, around mid/high-seventies with the kind of breeze you shouldn't wear your hair down in. I powerwalked to class with Britters and Aerosmith blasting and didn't even break a sweat.
Reading and loving Pride and Prejudice. Also, wanting to kiss whomever cast Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy in the miniseries for me to look forward to at the end of it, 'cause in my head, Colin Firth was born to play that role as Joey Fatone was born to be Danny in Grease.
How charming is the quote describing JC as having a "unique way of moving" by a former MMC choreographer here? That's certainly one way to put it. Personally, I love his style, and the way he described his criteria for picking his dancers being their energy rather than grace. I'm all about that, not having more than an ounce of it to my entire constitution.
Earlier tonight, Meghan called me a grammar nazi while affectionately ruffling my hair when I thanked her for knowing how to use colons. It may be the best compliment I've received in a month. The Access Party campaign manager, however, gets no points for his random insertion of commas, repetition without rhetorical purpose, misspellings, unnecessary dashes, rampant verb disagreement (case and tense), article abuse, failure to know the affect/effect distinction, either lack of or doubling up on transitions, improper utilization of apostrophes to convey plurality and overambitious and miscontextualized word choice. *grits teeth* Also, I'm firmly behind a measure that would require people to possess a license to use the word 'upon.'
Otherwise, between stories about KY Jelly wrestling and prostitutes, tomorrow's issue is going to be the most entertaining ever!

In conclusion, I have to say any night, no matter how riled up it makes me over the state of public education in the United States, that includes a three-way chorus of Gone between myself, the desk chief, and the managing editor gets capital marks.
