Well, as the writeups won't be done for another few days given that school's decided to assert itself, at least this needed to be shared.

Audio from the concert part of our Stars Over Mississippi weekend of Lance singing God Bless America with Tony Danza and company. Or you know, he would be singing it if he knew the words. We're giggling at his attempt to change them to the National Anthem in the second line (land of the free instead of land that I love). He promptly holds the microphone a little farther from himself and toward the National Guardsman on his right and asks the audience to sing along as well, but what little you can hear is precious.

I have so many more pictures from the weekend than previously thought, which, in the illustrious words of Emmett Honeycutt, is what we call a "high-end" problem. So sleep deprivation be damned, because it is not at all within my constitution to resist doing a photo essay. Also, my camera rocks harder than a rocking thing, and between it and Photoshop, it's really amazing how much something one can make from virtually nothing.

A cup of coffee and an apple held me over from 10:30 until 4, which was perhaps not smart. However, I nonetheless managed to pretty thoroughly help the two people who came in to my lab hours this afternoon.

Jude Law allegedly proposed to his 22-year-old girlfriend. This is neither here nor there, except for how I'm twenty-two and suddenly overcome with feelings of inadequacy that I'm not being offered diamond rings by celebrities almost ten years older than me. We're not exploring this further.

[livejournal.com profile] plum_evil would have me bow to her Hard Core Logo ways with the DVD she sent, along with a CD I'm dying to give a proper spin to as soon as I get home. One of these days I'm gonna have to thank her personally over a cup of coffee or something - there's really no excuse for why I haven't made it to Tallahassee (except for the fact that, well, it's Tallahassee ;).

And Photo just kindly informed me the music emanating from their office that provoked this ginormous wave of nostalgia all over me is Rebel, Rebel by David Bowie. And now it's Young American, and damn we spent a lot of time waiting for JC's shows in the course of things, eh? But the man says he's ready to do it again, and who else is with me in the "Amen!" to that?
