Upon reading others' accounts, apparently it was Lonnie with JC on Saturday night. Hey, if there's one member of the boys' security team to have (hopefully) endeared myself to, it would be him. *g* I am such a dork.
We watched All the President's Men in PoliSci today. Mmm. Robert Redford was quite the hottie with that shaggy hair, man. Oh, right, and the film was pretty cool, too, all that journalistic integrity and investigating that seem, lamentably, to be all but passe nowadays. They looked so sexy doing it.
Done! I'm done, promise. Moving right along...
Note to self: Jingle Ball tickets go on sale Saturday morning. JC! Performing! *squee* I'm excited about Lance's blackjack dealing for puppies gig, too, but will have to live that one vicariously. Good times to all who are attending.
Apparently, Blowin' Me Up was #1 on Kasey's countdown, a detail which confused me too because I'd previously thought It's Gonna Be Me was their only #1 hit. Or that might just be a BillBoard statistic. As my professor would say, we're journalists because we don't like numbers.
The Joe Schmo Show finale was all right. I don't know if the "coming out" ceremony was done to the best effect, but Matt really was fantastic through the whole thing and played it as well he's done everything else. Good man, and good thing he came out okay on the other side.
The Marlins are World Series champions and the Revolutions premiere was tonight. I am a bad journalism student, as the former is moldy news and the latter is something I just should've been up on.
As mentioned before, because the picture really should be seen, behind the cut is...
the best magazine cover ever:

Well, we were entertained, in any event.
[ETA: If you need RMA or Guavaween footage, I may have started my day off by tracking those down. As well as some other, older stuff, but haven't seen it = new to me and all that. As always, feel free to hit me up on AIM.]

Date: October 29th, 2003 03:54 am (UTC)When JC was introducing Kasey, I didn't realize he was talking about his song until later, lol. I thought he meant it in the general sense like, "That's my song!" I am such a nerd.
Would it be too much trouble to ask you if you could please send me the Guavaween footage in an e-mail? I have trouble downloading files through AIM, although I can send them without any problems. My computer is just wacky that way. (fucking_jc@livejournal.com) If not, no problem, just thought I would ask :)

Date: October 29th, 2003 05:50 am (UTC)I got them from here. My e-mail is really picky about attachments and doesn't allow me to send any decent-sized ones. I'm fairly certain those links are still good, but let me know if you don't have any luck with it.

Date: October 29th, 2003 07:35 pm (UTC)As for traveling, hmmm. This weekend I'm going to Atlanta to see Nick and Brian. I was at CFTC in July, and June was Nashville for the Lance Love. I did, however, manage to forgo Mississippi. Somehow. I've tried to stay within driving distance this year, but last year included trips to Orlando (Celebrity Tour, CFTC), New Jersey (Celebrity Tour), and New York (Joey in RENT).

Date: October 29th, 2003 08:05 pm (UTC)And meep! Presale! Unfortunately, it doesn't matter for me, as there is no way I will be paying floor seat prices. Like, not even vaguely. But I'll definitely be there.
The country music festival, was it, in Nashville? How cool. I never actually came across any accounts of what Lance said at the panel, just lots of striptease pictures. ;)

Date: October 29th, 2003 08:05 pm (UTC)by the way, i didn't mean any offence by the little skit. i was hyper and caffienated and my brain does weird things under those circumstances ::sheepish grin::.
say, do you like Jet?

Date: October 29th, 2003 08:25 pm (UTC)I pulled up a floor seat, but I couldn't justify paying that much for a brief appearance (although I do like some of the other acts too). Anyway, I managed to get a good (I think) lower level seat for half that price, so it's all good. It appeared that all seats were on sale.
The Nashville thing was very cool. If you're interested, I did jot down some notes in my journal back in June. I'm not a frequent poster, so they're maybe a couple of pages back. :-)

Date: November 4th, 2003 03:20 am (UTC)Heh. The boys in the icon are in fact *NSYNC. It's a still from their 1999 BillBoard Music Awards performance of Just Got Paid. Fantastic show, however unfortunate the initial costume of trenchcoats may have been.

Date: November 4th, 2003 08:42 pm (UTC)*giggle* They're Lance and Joey. The text is lyrics from the title track to On the Line. In case it hasn't been glaringly obvious, I'm a JoLa girl to the core. Love them! And they love each other! So much! *melt*
