Today was nice. One class, no pressure, and yet more weekend tomorrow. I finished the picture links for my site, effectively quadrupling my knowledge of Photoshop in the course of six hours. Also, they tell me JC's playing not one but three back-to-back shows in SoCal in December, and I'm just not that strong. Plus, [livejournal.com profile] giddyupnow and [livejournal.com profile] without_me! Et al, of course. Am v. v. excited.

A bunch of my friends who were kind of leery of my Queer As Folk pursuits a year ago are apparently having a first season marathon and [livejournal.com profile] staystrong missed episodes 10 and 11, so I went over and we had ourselves a little viewing party. Good times. Then I sucked some at Mario World 3 and dropped in on RJ, who is feeling under the weather. There is something pointedly tragic about a singer having a viral throat infection. *hugs* It was good to see him though - we always have good conversations, even if they're whispered.

A little late but I didn't know about the Halloween costume meme. Get this: as Jules, I'd be... Justin Timberlake. No, really. As [my full real name], I'd be Sailor Moon. Which I actually was, freshman year of high school! *giggle*

I suck momentously large amounts for not knowing Tony Lucca would be in Orlando doing five shows Nov. 5th-8th. *kicks self* Suck, suck, suck. Tooony! *pout*

Lance, charitable soul that he is, is selling the jeans off his tush for the National Hemophilia Foundation (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] canalbaby for the info). Am tres amused that said clothing is described as "roomy" and they give his waist size (34) like the bidder will actually wear them or something.

From popdirt.com, gacked from everyone:

A blind item in Billy Masters' column at Filth2go.com asks, "Could it be there's a secret behind the long-delayed regrouping of that boy band? That's the buzz from folks close to the mates who tell me that the impediment has been more personal rather than professional. While the blame has publicly been solo endeavors around the world, we hear that two of the boys are fighting over a third fella. Here's the best part: although one of the songbirds tricked with the outsider, the other songstress is currently dating him! But that's only the beginning. The two singing partners were already reeling from the damage of their own break up! And while both boys secretly hoped the other wouldn't get another boyfriend, neither one was saying, 'I want you back' or 'I don't want you back.' No matter what, all the time in the world ain't gonna fix this one. Eh, that's how love goes when you're a celebrity."

Discussion here. See, a lot of people are saying Jessie/Lance/JC. I don't know, man, but my angsty!non-Bassez idea existed before this, though it will ostensibly be influenced by it now. There really isn't any other possibility within the *NSYNC camp, though the intro would point to them. People have said Backstreet and Boyzone based on the lyrics, but those are lesser conjectures for reasons already stated. Interesting blind item though, and as others have said, very well-worded with the song allusions, which could point to anyone. Interesting. If nothing else though, fic should come out of it. Lots.

As a surprise to no one, we've got yet another new date for JC's album - February 10th. Which is cool, because he's obviously doing promotion, the shows, they're letting the song get airplay. They left off 'optimistic' from the assessment below.

The month thing, originally from [livejournal.com profile] plum_evil (by the way, would you want to drive down to Jingle Ball together?)

SEPTEMBER:

Suave and compromising (wow, that started off well). Careful, cautious and organized. Likes to point out people's mistakes. Likes to criticize. Stubborn. Quiet but able to talk well. Calm and cool. Kind and sympathetic. Concerned and detailed. Loyal but not always honest. Does work well. Very confident (only at certain times of the month and involving certain tasks, and then there's no stopping me). Sensitive (I can be quite dense). Thinking generous. GoodDecent memory. Clever and knowledgeable. Loves to look for information. Must control oneself when criticizing. Able to motivate oneself. Understanding. Fun to be around. Secretive. Loves sportsskiing, leisure and traveling. Hardly shows emotionsI've been told I have "the most expressive face" of anyone they've ever met by several people. Tends to bottle up feelings. Very choosy, especially in relationships. Systematic.

Quotes of the Day:
"You're sixteen, and last night was kind of illegal."
-Everwood

"Seventeen year olds are not supposed to look like this. This is an underage kid who drove his female (and possibly male) teachers to drink during his senior year."
-[livejournal.com profile] dacey about JC during the seventh season of MMC

"Fannish Immorality = Writing Slash = Camel Fucking."

"This is exactly what I've been trying to explain to my students about rhetorical analysis and how to avoid argumentative pitfalls, especially logic that isn't really logic but a disguised emotional hotbutton. If you can't prove your point by sound logic, cast some aspersions."

Yeah, after seeing bits of MMC-era JC, I'm really glad I didn't have access to the Disney Channel while it was on. I'm scared that this thing for him could've started a lot sooner. Then again, I'm not exactly sure when all my hormones kicked in. *g*

If it could work out, I think carpooling would be a kick. I'm going to try and stay down in SoFla so I can go to the midnight showing of RotK with Shel, Brook, Jordan, et al -- so leaving from there on Wednesday is my plan at the moment.

You know, I remember snatches of MMC. We had cable, but the only thing I really watched at that age were cartoons. Interestingly, the one of them I remember is Britney - my voice was a lot like hers at that age, and we could've practically passed for twins with our long brown hair. So yeah, her, not the boys. Go figure. Glad we got that cleared up though. ;)

Carpooling would be fantastic, if you have the room. I'd be very much amenable to a midnight viewing or RotK if there are still tickets as well. Let me know if I should be buying that now or whatever and we'll plan some more, 'k?
