Two tests yesterday, and just enough studying to ace both. I rock!

Except no, no I don't, and all this did was reinforce already dismal study habits, but still with the grades! Maybe just a little, then.

The goofy grin reflex every time I look at the envelope from Tuesday on my desk has not yet worn off. After more drafts than a week's worth of happy hour at an Irish pub, the letter is done and will be on its merry way in the morrow.

So here's something bizarre. I fell asleep at 5:30; my dorm's fire alarm went off around six. Now, sleeping through a hurricane is one thing, but sleeping through our fire alarm is a testament to truly profound deprivation. It's this loud, frequent blare of sound, and you're supposed to (obviously) leave your room and wait downstairs until the fire department gets there and okays turning it off.

So in the dream, I was some sort of special something (i.e. Dawn - human but special), and there was a very Underworld werewolf-like faction hunting me. Scary! A few of them found and followed me to work, where my coworkers proceeded to not only believe my crazy story that they were after me but told me to stay in the newsroom to hide out while they went out and "took care of it." I just remember them all being very calm and reassuring that I'd be safe (to which I responded by asking if Cameron made the decision to hire me based on what I was rather than my skillz as a copy editor, fears which they also allayed rather nicely, saying that I'd found them and it was merely a convenient bonus. Because that's the sort of thing that matters when you have evil beasts hunting you.)

I am a strange child.

Made the mistake of checking out the TRiP site, and for Spring Break, they're going to Lake Tahoe! The whole week! $1175 including airfare, lodging, lift tickets and equipment! If my ass was in any kind of shape to ski a minimum eight hours a day and I had any time to square the paperwork plus the funds to cover it given the summer programs I'm looking at, I'd be all over it like white on rice.

Does anyone still say that?

Ran into the editorial board at Leonardo's on my walk to the office, and told Staci that Miranda and I got the phone call from housing that we'd been placed into her room:

"Yay!" *silence falls over the restaurant, with everyone turning to look at us* "That may have been out loud."

Steve made the mistake of telling me there's a Super Nintendo in the online room. I may never work again.

Speaking of work though (not that I've been talking about much else recently), I was the one who got to field the election announcement phone call, and amid deafening cheers and spotty reception, I caught enough to run through the office screaming Access had won, with yet another record-setting voter turnout of 11,000, by a margin of 2,000 votes. How freakin' cool, that. Jamal was such the underdog for the nomination, then winning any significant portion of the vote, and yet. Rock on, student body.
