So, last night, after getting home at eight o'clock from either taking tests, doing homework, or being in class all day, it took until about two o'clock that I stopped kidding myself that I'd be writing my History essay in any sort of non-last-minute situation.

Rundown: I didn't embarrass myself during the speaking part of my French final and don't hate my essay (five pages in three hours this morning, thankyou), and mostly, that means I won.

Talked to a TA in the Dauer office who's done study abroad in Europe and South America and assured me that if I speak French, though even that's more like a big plus than a must, can make sense of train/subway systems and am not afraid to use said sense, I'm set. Check, check, and check. New York isn't Paris, but dropping myself into the middle of it, alone, for five days, knowing approximately the three square blocks around Times Square? Pretty damn ballsy. I'm thinking I'll be fine.

The lady at the International Center reassured me that since I wasn't going to the Amazon jungle, I won't need quite the array of vaccinations listed in the study abroad booklet. But then she tempted me with the prospect of weekend excursions to Morocco since it's so close, and I hadn't even thought but wow, yeah. Africa, however, is not the European mainland. Shall ponder.

Also, dude. Dude. August 29th is a Sunday. For the price of a $35 bus ticket? I am going to the VMAs in Miami. *dances*

Company picnic tomorrow! Tres exciting.

I don't actually have the luxury of going out tonight, but you know what, I need Starbucks and a minute's break from this week's madness before it resumes.

I heard rumors a couple of weeks ago that the VMAs will be on LA this year, and got all excited about trying to go again. Oh well.. I'll be too busy as it is that time.. :)

I really wish I could, but I'll be a new resident of LA then, and I really don't have the money for another cross country flight.

Mmm, moving to LA. Man, you're going to love it out there. You're just breezing right through my dream cities. :)

You need to come up here sometimes.. :)

As for LA, I haven't been there since I was 12 years old. It's going to be a very new experience for me.
