A German exchange student stopped by my tutoring session today, and besides feeling ludicrously competent at addressing his concerns, I swooned a bit on the inside at his fascinating accent. He spoke like he'd learned English from a Yankee who'd spent a couple of years abroad in Britain, plus he had his own German idiosyncrasies. Mmm.

As badly as I wanted to leave the Access campaign manager's letter the embarrassing drivel that it was (though the content deserved to have been written about in a proper story), apparently we do not extend the same copy editing courtesy to one of our regular columnists. I'm going to pretend it has nothing to do with the fact that she spends the piece bashing Democratic protesters and lauding Republicanism. We're a possibly overly liberal and progressive newsroom, but I don't think that bothers me.

Also, I love that we can subtly lambast people who refuse to comment, especially when it's scummy club managers who let their bouncers wield cattle prods. Nothing like listing all the ways we tried to solicit a few quotes to make them look even more like the dodgy, spineless bastards they are.

Otherwise, there's a large chicken bowl for the price of a medium on the desk in front of me, the scary scary task of OS updating when I get home, and a test I am all but wholly unprepared for tomorrow. And yet, the thing I'm reading between shrunkens and flats is Prisoner of Azkaban for canon-gathering purposes. David Thewlis aside, I really do love Remus Lupin.
