aruan: (Just another day)

'cause you know what you might see

Aaah, home. Land where the refrigerator is never without muffins and croissants, puppies are abundant (including [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow's new one! Adorable black lab named Shadow, so friendly and enthusiastic and waah! Dogs!) and Nintendo game consoles are a brother away. It took no time at all to set up my dream office in mom's third-floor sanctuary, and actually having the time to luxuriate in the technology is such a blissful thought. *moves in* Also, as our zoo is ever-growing, we have a parrot again. Although she's too young to be talking yet, she did catcall back when I whistled at her last night.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] without_me for the swanky stickers (going on my laptop as we speak) and [livejournal.com profile] jenbeth78 for the card and pictures. You should've seen me - I stopped walking and breathed sweet jesus, that's hot when I saw the group one.

Brother insisted on another after-drive movie night on Saturday, so we set out, mom in tow, for Ocean's Twelve. No clue at all why this movie's been getting panned - such fun! And the French guy! Lord have mercy with the hotness. Bruce Willis saying my name didn't hurt at all, and I must say, I'm finally at one with the Cult of Pitt.

There was also a trailer for Constantine. CONSTANTINE! *swoons* [livejournal.com profile] synecdochic, do you know about this film? First of all, Keanu Reeves in tortured hero roles plays me like a finely tuned instrument. And then it's like fanfic that takes place in the Rake universe! I am consumed with squee and anticipation.

Am intrigued about people who vid songs to non-canon ships. That either shouldn't work, or we don't watch the same show.

Missing the boy, in the way they come in handy sometimes outside the context of heavy objects, if you catch my meaning.

[livejournal.com profile] escapist_xbq reminded us of the age difference between Cameron and Justin with a picture post featuring MMC!JT, and my eyes, they are agog. [livejournal.com profile] wearemany tells me that the Oxford English Dictionary now includes an entry for fanfic. Rock on, old British dudes, rock on.

Quote of the Day:

"I keep having idiotic and randomly useless ideas for stories. I mean, impossibly silly stories. I started a list, and it looks like a grocery list of badfic. Yet it is strangely addictive. And worrying about the strangest things. Such as - Girl!Lex idea. In which Kryptomagic turns Lex into a girl. Would he have hair? Would he understand what to *do* with it? Would Clark have to come and fix it for him? Would any idea in history be as bad as having *Clark* fix your hair?"
- [livejournal.com profile] seperis

Omen of the Day:

"The final chapter of the seventh book is written. That's for my own satisfaction, so that I know where I'm going as I write the other books. And that last chapter deals with what happens to the survivors afterward. Because there will be deaths."
- J.K. Rowling (from July 1999!) [I know. No, really, I know people are going to die, but jeezlepetes! *cowers and whimpers*]

*hugs* Wish I could send you the real thing--or send you to it--but I hoped the stickers would make you smile. Happy holidays!

They did, thank you. I'm going to be sticking them on random possessions until they last and remembering little things each time I see them.

And while I did get you something - off your Amazon WishList, because I suck at buying gifts - it won't get to you before the holiday, because I also suck at planning ahead. But in the interim, very happy holidays to you as well.

Squee, a s'prize to look forward to! Though you didn't need to do that, silly sweet student girl. *hugs* (Thank you thank you; I like looking forward to s'prizes almost as much as I like receiving them, so the lateness is a bonus!)

Next step: Getting you out here so we can all celebrate together next year. *nods*

hee. Dude. You need the Hellblazer graphic novels. Pronto. The "scary motherfucker" from London that teaches Lance a few things in Rake? Is John Constantine. (the non-Keanu Reeves version, because, just, no. Not Keanu. Nonono. But Gavin Rossdale as Balthazar is AOK w/me. Just sayin.)

[identity profile] gjstruthseeker.livejournal.com 2004-12-20 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I did remember somewhere along the writing up of this entry that John Constantine was Lance's contact in England. Can I find the graphic novels at B&N? I might just go hole up with a latte tomorrow.

And see, I'm among the happy few who like Keanu. I saw Speed at a very impressionable age, and the man does have something about him that comes out in these brooding tragic hero types - like Orlando's forlorn puppy look, it just projects that one emotion so well - that whole wounded/betrayed by the world/star-crossed lover/doomed thing he did for three Matrix installments. Plus, he looks fab in black, knows kung fu, and I seem to have a thing for tall, dark, underfed-looking types. *shrug*

Hm. Gavin Rossdale acting, you say. I like Bush (and wow, even though you know what I'm talking about, I'm going to clarify that to mean the BAND) well enough, so hey.

I like Keanu, too; it's just that he's so very wrong for Constantine. Think of a British Dennis Leary: snarky, sarcastic and tired as hell of having to deal with hell. and yuppies. I'm crossing my fingers over GR though. Maybe it'll work.

Dude. Scan that mother in. I need me some hot. *g*

You know, it's not even the picture itself, really - JC has bad hair, Lance's shirt is sweaty in patches, and Justin is wearing his grandfather golfer shorts, not to mention Joey and Chris' dark-color ensembles for sunny SoFla in July - it's that it was a new-to-me picture of the five of them together, and having been there when it was taken that ups the hot factor by a thousand or so. That, and they're from the private stash of a very, very lucky girl. However, [livejournal.com profile] fuskeez has been outdoing herself with finding non-heinous early!Sync photos, wouldn't you say?

[identity profile] carta.livejournal.com 2004-12-20 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
She has been doing marvelously.

[identity profile] jenbeth78.livejournal.com 2004-12-20 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
I am SO glad they got to you... I was a bit worried that some had been lost in the mail *g* You can post it if you would like, but just that one ;)

[identity profile] gjstruthseeker.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I was worried I've been giving out the wrong zip code! *g* My parents have a moving fetish. But I did get them, thank you so much. Did you ever get to talk to them, by the by, or was it a photo op-only pass?

[identity profile] jenbeth78.livejournal.com 2004-12-21 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I would have LOVED to ask one question of all 5 but was not given that opportunity. I did talk to Joey after they finished though, before I went back to the fan side. I SHOULD have taken that op to talk to someone else, but you know me... one track mind and all LOL
