today's recaplet:
Feb. 5th, 2002 02:55 pmi had less than four hours of sleep from 5:43 to 9:33 - waking up to my alarm was purely incidental, i don't think i even recognized it as real when i stumbled through the haze of my morning.
yay! cold enough to wear my big knitted grey sweater. 46 feeling like 37 baybee. who loves a good weather phenomenon?
hal levenberg is in my crim class?
quiz in the same. so all over the courts thing. that and how daunting do five true/false questions really sound?
the good hare krishna people were just beginning to serve lunch in the plaza of the americas. curried spinach and potatoes with seasoned rice and sweet corn square. the indian food craving i didn't even know was spiraling progressively out of control has been sated. another step closer to that place in the sun.
chemistry rocks my little world. i love it when life can be explained in sensible, measurable, observable, elemental terms. no gray areas in chem.
journalism is definitely beginning to grow on me. my editor at the gator times called about my kyudo article and we actually had a little conversation about majors and life and how cool getting to go to such seminars and just discovering new things and meeting new people one would ordinarily overlook. this week, i get to go out and investigate student investment strategies. local firms, campus liasons, barnes & noble, and Suze Ormon. i don't understand what other people who can make the monday night staff meetings are choosing to write about if i keep ending up with all the good assignments after the fact. oh! requisite writer's workshop on the 23rd! the sweetness of being involved. in the meantime, some pointers to keep in mind: get lots of quotes, put them high in the article, always shoot for at least 100 words over the set 500 format, and keep the background info towards the end. for the next time you're writing to hold interest.
will wore an all-black ensemble and coiffed his normally unruly hair, so big big bonuses all around for braving the maze of turlington plaza.
finishing off my snapple diet air (prickly peach makes me smile) and off to do the same for chem. who is this task-oriented pod person and what has she done with the meek slacker of just yesterday? i like this one though - think i'll let her play more often.
well, they do say when it rains it pours. a friend of megan's (roommate) bought a condo and they're uprooting as of spring break, leaving me desolate in my newly empty dor,... sorry, couldn't keep the straight face a moment longer. in a few short weeks, i'll have my own wall-length bay window, an anteroom for use as an office, black light room, who can say, and all the shoe space a walk-in closet can afford. heaven in a room and a half.
wow. did all my laundry. every last scrap of it. and i keep promising myself this no more delinquency thing, but this time i think i'll be serious because having to deal with two and a half weeks' worth of clothes is a bit excessive. however, time not wasted, i read on the beach as my socks and towels took their spin in the makeshift gravitron across the way. oh, and did i mention the cute guy who struck up conversation with me with whom i managed to be completely charming and witty in return? that slippery mind of mine...
while roommate and company's offer to come watch Real World with them may have been tempting any other night (can you tell i don't hang out with groups of girls very much? somewhere, deep down, i enjoy talking about nail polish and guy's abs on the same level of seriousness as nuclear war). however, tuesday nights from 10 until 11, no more no less, is Buffy hour, and with that i curled up with my remote hot on the record button and settled in.
oh man. there's something throwing about flipping to a channel to the image of two people wrapped in and lying under a persian rug. and it only got better from there. what a spectacular hour of television, spent in attempts to get oxygen to the lungs, rushing between bed perch and AIM, and thanking the creator that last week was in fact a sweeps gear-up fluke of a bloody thorn in my bloody side. let the real fun begin.
