From the 2002 Sundance Film festival. How this image manages to embody the epitome of Lance's dorkitude yet remain somehow oddly hot is a trick only a precious few can pull off. He does it with style and aplomb, as the Offspring would have us have it. Lance is a man who makes his own decisions, lives in a rather cavalier style of his own as of late, and to hell with everyone else because they're probably not having nearly as much fun as he is.
Today's recommendation is admittedly someone else's from earlier in the week, but it's one I somehow managed to miss in my initial ravaging of the authors' archive and upon reading, pretty much consumed me for the rest of the afternoon.

Now, I've never had any sort of run-in with doppelganger fic so I can't call that either way, but body switching? Hot fucking damn. Lance talking about Justin just lying back because he knows what feels good and appreciating his own sexiness? Rawr. What I really love though is the appreciation those who know the boys will get from their interactions with Lancefied!Justin and Justinized!Lance. No one knows, and really how would their figure, but things get noticed and it's interesting to see how even a group of guys who live in each others' back pockets manage to lead some sort of own separate existences as well.

Good god! I mean, they were mostly the same things we're so used to the others noticing about him in fic, but for him to hear his own voice outside his head, see his own hard-earned body, know what he looks like when people tell him he's sexy and understand what they mean was just amazing to read. Maybe because there's so much self-esteem issues-involving Lance fic out there, for him to see for himself what everyone's making all the fuss about was incredible to read.
And the sex with the added knowing exactly what makes him feel good factor? I don't think my blood pressure can take more than one reading of this in a single day. Thanks for reccing it, Susie.

A few of my absolute favorites have been recced already, but there's a whole lotta Lance month left and so much good fic in this fandom I don't foresee a problem. Thank you! You've so far demonstrated impeccable tastes yourself. *g* As to the comments, it's really just me scrolling through pictures or reading fic and going 'ooh, nummy.' Our subject really makes it so easy.

Hee. Thanks! I have to admit it's a riff on someone in SV fandom's icon of Clark with the caption 'It's not nice to tease about pie.' Lance just looked so pouty and sullen! Like a couple of hooligans snatched his MTV Moonman off his mantle and are playing catch with it over his head.
That, and I really can't deny that boy anything.

and b) THAT ICON OF LANCE IS HILARIOUS!
Whee! I'm so happy people are digging the icon as much as I do. He just looks so in need of a hug, and I am apparently incapable of standing by and letting anyone say anything negative about the boy without taking some sort of action.
and your assesment of the photo of Lance in your entry was just absolutely correct. he's a dork, but he manages to look so damn gorgeous whilst being as such.
It really does make me go 'huh?' sometimes. He stands in such stark defiance of so many of the social/cultural norms of the entertainment industry, yet manages to remain absolutely compelling to all the little cliques. Our dorky, sexy, singer-dancer-manager-producer-actor-cosmonaut cannot be denied.
so yes. just felt like sharing.

Sundance was an excellent opportunity to catch him at his dorkiest, his flamiest, his Hollywood chic-est, and his most endearing. There'll probably be more posted from that event.
