Day Thirteen - continuing on a theme

And a second one, which I didn't even really blink at until I realized that's *Joey* in the biker outfit:

It shouldn't work. It should be the antithesis of every bad, worn-to-shreds fanfic cliche because we've heard so much hype that the real thing shouldn't possibly hope to measure up.
And yet again, the illustrious Mr. Bass proves that he lives to make us eat our words.
I'd like anyone who didn't find him drop dead gorgeous (hot pink dress! White knee-high go-go boots! The lush blond wig! The unsettlingly luscious hourglass shape of his figure!) in the U Drive Me Crazy video to stand up and, like, I dunno, check their prescription or something. But this! With the leather and eyeliner and the coy tilt of his head! As masculine as those arms are, there's something about the angle of his jaw and the catlike eyes that make him absolutely bewitching as a woman. Because see, there's boys in drag, and then there's Lance Bass in a dress, who not only has the curves for it but comes to the experience like every other - to make sure it's done right.
I [heart] perfectionists.
Taken For Granted - Em
"And shoes!" Britney exclaimed. "What's your shoe size?"
"Uhhhh.... men's seven?" he said weakly.
"We need to get you some shoes," she declared. "I can be down there tomorrow and we can spend the day shopping; how's that?"
"You know, I still don't like shopping, Britney," he informed her.
"You're kidding. What kind of girl are you?" she demanded.
"The kind who had a dick a week ago," he shot back.
We're three for three today. One in the JC and the Pussycats series, and did I mention I couldn't love this particular plot device any more than I do? Ingenius, completely, the way there's no need for setup or explanation, that it's accepted and let's get to the story already. The reactions of the boys vary, and it's always fun to see how and when in the course of thing the intended pairing develops. I like Lance's uneasiness in this piece, whereas most have the boy embracing his, err, change. I like that it takes a while to get to things, and that even with this kind of fateful interference, none of it may get righted.

While browsing last night, I found a chat transcript with Joey from December 1998. He was asked what music he was listening to right then - the RENT soundtrack. I grinned and patted his 21-year-old head in spirit.

men's size fucking SEVEN?! okay, further proof of my raging perfectionism that now choses to rear its head, but Lance has a size eleven men's shoe and I'M a size seven in mens and a size eight/eightandahalf in womens so if that were to be at all accurate in the actual world he would have tiny little feet. and also, the word 'he' at the end of Lance's sentence should be capitalized i do believe.
yes. i am a raging perfectionist. no offence intended, so sorry if offence if taken by whoever wrote that, but yes. raging perfectionist. ::shakes head::

Hee, the shoe comment threw me for a moment, too, but yeah, like Susie said, this is *after* he's turned into a girl, so yeah, smaller proportions all around.

We learned this in Advanced Grammar this semester, actually - with dialogue, when the statement is a question you end it with a question mark but the resulting attribution is still written like it would follow a comma. But it does look wrong, I admit.

Like I told Susie, great minds, baby. *g* Seriously though, you've been doing very well on the recs yourself - a few of my favorites have been recced by others too, but really, that's probably not going to stop me because there are just some stories you feel very viscerally about, ya know?
