Miraculously, even having been MIA for about a week, it's only skip=360 on the friendslist and I am back on top. A recap of sorts:
Boys:
Lance is an absolutely darling boy.
-I could listen to him talk all day long. His boys! Old footage! Twenty-eight minutes of it all! Le sigh.
Joey's talking marriage.
-Well, he's been wearing the stinkin' ring for long enough. It should've come down a much longer time ago, but best of it all to him however it goes. And hee. "...some lame group called *NSYNC" indeed, Joe. Indeed.
JC enjoys traveling across the pond for Justin.
As well as watching Trading Spaces, reading poetry and painting his assistant's bedroom.
-Mmm-hm. And did everyone hear he's flying the La Puente drumline to Zootopia for the show? This boy is practically campaigning for sweetheart of the year.
Justin hosted an awards show last night!
-Lucky for him that wardrobe only screwed up Seann William Scott's wardrobe with one of the female dancers.
-Chris is somewhere in the sweltering haven of Las Vegas, Nevada. Good luck, kid.
You'd think between having record-setting albums and tours, they could afford to have their own clothes.
-You'd be wrong. Go see just how wrong.
Friends:
slimslash is my hero of the day.
-My good lord. Look at them! Eerie thing is, they were just that way in my head.
mimesere got to 'meet' Alexis Denisof and Billy Boyd last night!
-The latter of whom waved and grinned at her and made note of Dom's abscence when he got to the podium. Total dream night. So very, very happy for her.
-Belated birthday salute to
trixiesfic. Did that package arrive or do tropical fruits smell too akin to other things to make it through initial deliverability inspections?
-Big congratulations to
rhyssj for finishing the AU! Absolutely cannot wait for it.
Me:
-Changed the icons. The boys are celebrating JC's citing Duran Duran as a musical influence on his record. Oh, Miranda - the JC icon is too large to upload, which makes me teary. We'll talk later.
-I might have to reread Resonant's Transfiguration in the very near future. Hot diggity damn.
-Alan Cumming is such a happy gay boy, with his rhinestoned denim kilt and letting reporters feel up on the cockring he wore underneath.
-Apparently the Helen/Lex pairing was more casually known as Hex. Hee. Inherently doomed? In Smallville? You don't say.
-Ahem. A moment please. *does the Rhys Finished the AU dance*
-May or may not cave to the very real temptation to get in on JC Month as well, given the recent surge of affection on top of what was already love at first sight.
1. What fandoms do you participate in?
-Popslash, though I feel strong Matrix Reloaded and Harry Potter inklings.
2. What was your first fandom?
-The X-Files
3. What fandom are you *so* over?
-Sailor Moon, though I still love the series for myself.
4. What is your favorite fandom?
-Early Smallville was fun, before the glutting newbie influx. But Popslash wins it hands down. Best people, best fic, best material, best subject matter. I like it here in the pseudo-reality of the entertainment business.
4a. Favorite pairing?
-Hi. You may know me as the girl who lives and breathes by JoLa. If not, nice to meet you.
5. What would you rather poke your eyes out with spiky hot flaming daggers than read?
-Hm. I have a strong stomach. Gratuitous for-their-own-sake pairings annoy me. But I think I'll read anything if it comes properly recommended.
6. What do you reeeeeeally wish someone would write (ahem, write *well*, that is)?
-Matrix twincest! I cannot understand how there isn't any of this. Movie's been out for half a month, people! Let's step on it! *g*
7. Complete this sentence: If I see [name/character] in a story, I simply won't read it.
-I have a very real problem with JC being called Josh by everyone, or outside of intensely intimate situations. That's... not his name. He's even said so! And JC's a heck of a lot more original as names go, so let's play ball.
8. Secret story kink?
-Exhibitionism
9. Complete this sentence: If I read [fill in the blank] in the warnings, I simply won't read it.
-Hm. I don't care for anything over light BDSM. Some light bondage is fine, no need for the rest.
10. What pairing will you read no matter who writes it?
-That would be Joey/Lance, but if I don't like the author I won't read more.
10a. What pairing will you avoid like the black death?
-Clark/Pete
11. Complete this sentence: I really wish [person] would write [pairing/fandom] fic.
-Resonant. Thick, plotty, engaging JoLa or Bassez. Mmm.
12. What story made you cry like a little girl?
-Experiment by Rhys. Good fucking lord. As soon as I figured out what was going on, what she was doing, I was lost. Wiping my eyes and reading through tears until the end. Save Yourself by Tiffany Rawlins if I feel like a quick punch to the solar plexus. JC's line at the end of Easy Come, Easy Go by Helen totally destroys me every time.
13. What story makes you hothothot?
-Hm. Mexican Moon by
bettyp. Just Push Play by
slimslash and
without_me. The first chapter of the JC-as-Siren series by Calico is hella hot, too.
14. What is your comfort fic?
When I Sleep You Are Near To Me by Sandy Keene
Fairy Tale by Synchronik
A Little Rain by Tiffany Rawlins
15. What would you like to take a shot at writing?
-I'd like to write something involving a lot of plot. Something clever, like a murder mystery.
Alright, I'm getting sick of myself now. More later.

Date: June 1st, 2003 11:32 am (UTC)Yes! I got them! Our fabulous Post Office managed to mangle the package a bit and two of the lip-balm tops broke. So the whole package was actually fruity fresh. Hee. Thank you, thank you!
