I don't think I believed this picture was unmanipped when I first saw it. Just, wow, you know? Interesting thing though, as a friend and I discussed last night, is that while you'd think that there wouldn't be anything gayer than an interior-decorating, flower embroidery-championing, capri-wearing, feathered hair-sporting boyband member, JC gives off a strangely convincing straight man vibe. *shrug* Personally, it's all good, especially whatever makes and keeps the boy as sunny and happy as he is.
For You by Sandy Keene
They stopped at a bar when the wind began to rage and JC got too cold. Lance balanced his chair on two legs in a room no bigger than a breadbox and watched JC study his bottle of beer like he thought he could divine the secrets of the world from it if he just stared hard enough.
A surprisingly short tale of a surprisingly long time, wherein things not so surprising happen. Set to Ivy's Edge of the Ocean, it's blissful magic. I love how the beautiful things in this story begin in this kind of dingy, dismal setting.

Lately I've come to realize that out of all of them, JC strikes me as the straightest (or second straigtest, depending on what Joey's up to that week) of all of them. Crazy. But I actually believe him when he talks about women, unlike the rest of them.
heh.

You mean when he's not draping himself all cheap suit-like over JC? Yeah.
But I actually believe him when he talks about women, unlike the rest of them.
Hee. *g* Lance... should just keep his mouth shut sometimes on those questions. That's if he was still trying to keep a lid on things, which he may well've given up on a while back there.

I should have edited that last bit to I actually believe him when he talks about women, unlike the rest of them besides Joey, since I think we can all agree that Joseph has a fond appreciation for the fairer sex. Heh. Especially since Lance really SHOULD take the fifth, Justin sounds like he read about a real girl once in a book, and Chris, well. Chris likes women too! Clearly! but he flaaames!
Anyway. Yeah, I think JC pretty much might just go with the flow. But I do get the sexy-with-women vibe from him, though that does not in any way negate the sexy-with-men vibe. :-)

Date: June 6th, 2003 05:46 pm (UTC)*giggle* Justin does seem (I don't know so much anymore, but still) to have this bookish idealism about many things. Like foreigners who learn English exclusively in classroom or from a book, and their diction, while proper to the letter, isn't quite how native speakers say things. Probably a bus school thing - living life on the road so there's no real way to experience things unless you're willing to take the requisite leaps of faith, growing up in an industry that expects you to fall on your own feet, etc. It's... charming. But not terribly realistic, like you said.
