You should've heard me yelling at the TV last night. Making the Band II was on: the kids were shopping for new management and one of the people they interviewed was none other than your best-known crooked entrepreneur, Lou Pearlman. Boo! Hiss! Silly children should watch their MTV more. Or you know, do two seconds' worth of research.

Aah, the to-do list. Implementing it for real this time, and so I set about my day. Accomplished five of seventeen, so not too shabby. The local Burdines carries Eminem's Shady Limited clothing line, which I spent a long minute fondling - I'm digging the baseball-style jersey. The good gentleman at Verizon totally hooked me up - new phone (they call it New Every Two! which is kinda cute) nationwide long distance for my friends out of state (to whom I speak more than most of my friends in-state) and free nights and weekends. Plus two really cool Wet Seal shirts, plus arm warmers and underwear all for $25. This is me, sittin' pretty.

Oh! Oh! Got a pretty papasan chair at Pier 1, 15% student discount and all. Eee! It's so big and cool and comfy and a chair. I'm so blissed out by the prospect.

Dinner was really nice, as Miranda had made her way up as well and we trekked to have barbeque with her dad and brother. After which, and man I'm setting some sort of personal best at least here, we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean at Butler. Still as rockin' good the sixth time around! Although I can't believe it took me this long to recast it:

Captain Jack Sparrow - JC (an ingenious bit of casting by Miranda; I'd initially suggested Chris, but that would've led to the perpetuation of more inaccurate stereotypes than I like)
Captain Barbossa - Joey (minus the betrayal, I could see it. The thing is, this movie was very good about not making caricatures of the characters, so even he, as a "bad" guy, was sympathetic.)
Will Turner - Lance (the boy is all work ethic, a bit naïve and sweet but strong and quick on his feet, literally and figuratively.)
Elizabeth Swann - Justin (though Miranda for some still as-yet unexplained reason says Chris.)
Commodore Norrington - Chris (this is my most uncomfortable bit of casting. Chris is anything but stoic and restrained. But Norrington is also sarcastic and charming, earnest but not simpering. Have I mentioned I love this movie?)

Picked up my laminated posters and they look tres chic. My *NSYNC one is outrageously pretty, with headshots from that garden NSA shoot interspersed among various other photoshoots and performance stills. They all look so good and happy! If I only had something LOTR and Buffy, I'd have all my fandoms represented on one wall.

Also, just so I'm on the record as having said it, while everyone seems convinced that Lance will be the one to take over, my money's entirely on JC. JC is some kind of mastermind no one will ever even suspect until it's so far beyond late we're all in uniforms of flip flops and bad hats.

I need to not be reading the theories on how JC's album might never get released. The speculation's got me eating cookie dough. It's just... I understand why JC might be freaking out over this album, but with the way things have been going (read: everyone and their dog who has heard him loves him), I can't understand why someone hasn't sat him down and tried to reasonably assuage it all.

Also, bless him and his anal-retentive tendencies but dammit, how does nobody have anything on his album/the single? I bet he had everyone involved sign an 'under pain of death' contract in their own blood. Though the poor puppy and his tears of jealous rage when it was Backstreet who got to sing with Sting. Don't Stand So Close To Me! Must. Find. Audio.

Quote of the Day:
"And Sting is totally a good sport! But you can kinda see him thinking, 'What is this song supposed to mean? What way do you want it, exactly?'"
-Susie

Exactly my thoughts when I first heard the song. Bet you'd get a different answer depending on which Boy you asked. ;)

I have no doubt you'd commit downright questionable acts for whatever reason. Hell, so would I. *g* But yes, album and sparkles? For sure. I cannot wait for this thing to hit, his voice. Gah, now I'm starting to figure out that all my favourite bits from the songs were all him.

Mmmm, JC as the kitten. Such a nice picture. *happy sigh*

Heh. We've met, then? ;)

Gah, now I'm starting to figure out that all my favourite bits from the songs were all him.

I know! He's absolutely dreamy. *is twelve*

See now, the thing about JC being a kitten is that people forget that they have claws. And that cats command respect and authority. People who don't have them as pets think they're just pretty and cute and sweet, but those who do know much, much better what goes on. It's really JC's world - we're just living in it.
