Due to housing conflicts, I'm Gainesville-bound for the weekend, which makes me more than a little sad. DragonCon! I even had an article planned for it so it'd be a business-minded pleasure cruise, but alas.
I still want to drive though. This was supposed to be a road trip along with other things, after all. Finally triumphing over the MiniDisc technology should be celebrated, but proper. Orlando, perhaps? Just for lunch and some browsing. If the thought of being outside anytime in the next month and a half didn't make me want to crawl into an over-air-conditioned hole. Evening, perhaps? Downtown Disney does look pretty all lit up. I think that's the only thing I'll miss about Florida besides the beach - the theme parks. Is it Halloween yet?
Speaking of which, Jon broke out the *NSYNC Backstage Pass game last night while we were taping the last dregs of the VMAs. Dude, I can't believe so little of this stuff has ever been incorporated into fic or included on the facts sheets! Not that half of it is even probably true, but this stuff is gold! Example:
Jon: What kind of girl is Joey attracted to?
Jules: The female kind?
Jon: Honest.
Jules: Maybe honest about being female.
Yes, yes, I'm an evil perpetuator of stereotypes. Or you know, I kid because I love. Of course the standard fare of Lance liking fruity-smelling women was also present, but priceless gems like JC's left ear is pierced (!) and he was a stage technician in high school should rightly have been fic fodder a long time ago! (Another of the questions asked whom Joey was closest to in the band. Not that this wasn't already canon, but my little OTP-loving heart pittered happily anyway.)
My new mouse is the ultimate in the glorification of sloth. Optical, with browser buttons on the side that page back or forward. Oh yeah.
On another note, not that he'd need or, for that matter, want, it, I wish Justin best of luck with seducing Madonna and still love that intro for its backstage politics. I hope MTV has had its last hurrah with the Justin/Britney thing now and can move on with its life. Me, I'm already done caring and am going to read oogobs of fic. Maybe it'll even be Trickyfish or Euro!Sync just to ruffle some more feathers.
Also, this:
Then, rather than show the Christina smooch, the MTV cameras cut to Justin Timberlake's deadpan reaction of his ex-girlfriend Britney making out with the Material Mom. (It's a shame the cameras didn't cut to Spears' reaction when Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" video, which features the former *NSYNCer exacting revenge on a cheating Britney look-alike, won for best male video.)
Yeah. What Guylaine Cadorette of Hollywood.com said.

Whose feathers could be ruffled by such things? Trickyfish and Euro!Sync are only of the good! And have you seen the babysync archive? It's the aptly titled Rocket Ship to Hell (http://www.whitelies.net/phantasy/rocket.html). My own predilection for Euro!Sync is very apparent by looking down the JC/Lance list...
Whatever you read, enjoy it! :-D
