So instead, a brief State of the Fandom.

It seems to have been the day for cheekiness within the pop fandom today. Not that everyone and their dog can't already safely assume that the rumors are true, but Wade. Oh, Wade. *gives him a noogie* It's been fun, having the real story leak in bits and pieces like this.

And then Britney Jean makes me snort orange juice with "I don't think it's cool to [write songs about personal matters] at other people's expense, if you understand what I'm trying to say." Oh, honey. Maybe you shouldn't be a sullen brat about cheating on songwriters. Just a thought.

TRL today. Now, I have absolutely no love for Snoop Dog in any way, personally and what he likes to call "professionally," yet none of this is going to keep Justin from working with him. This saddens me. Why must you make me sad, Timberlake? Have I not been good to you this month?

Dude, blind items totally suck. There's nothing fun about secrets without names attached. It just makes people paranoid or pissed off. If you can't keep it to yourself then at least be shameless about it, yo.

Apparently, JC was again on the Wade Robson Project. This is no time for MTV to curb its 'rerun them to DEATH' tendecies!

In other JC news, this album limbo is becoming positively maddening. "Early 2004" they say? Now, on a rational level, I've heard all the good points that this started out and has been getting done on JC's terms, that marketing it will be difficult to say the least, blah blah blah, take your pick of plausible reasons for these delays which don't change a thing about this sinking feeling in the pit of my belly. But the speculation's even worse - nothing against [livejournal.com profile] tavellafic but this prospect is hella depressing and sadly not entirely without merit.

As for the rumored collaboration being with Britney, she's been rumored to be going for something different with this album as well so the whole 'my how they've grown' aspect could work as far as a cross-promotional venture. *shrug* If Britney really is intending to make this album a departure from that dreaded bubblegum (I'm slowly but surely coming to hate that word and the people who slather it on everything as if it were something sensible like sunscreen) category, I honestly don't see anything adverse coming from this venture.

Hm. According to [livejournal.com profile] without_me who saw him on Sunset the other day Lance is still The Hottest Goober Ever, I just know that Joey is an absolutely wonderful daddy and has been putting that into practice during the hiatus, Chrissofer is assuredly doing something involving much cooler people than Snoop and blessings to him on whatever that may be.

I've decided I like this pseudo-possible association of BT's tour dates being pushed back because he might be heading out with JC in January the best and will therefore end on that note.

Not that my love for Somnambulist and more recently Force of Gravity isn't deep and abiding, but I was really really hoping for a JC/Tony excursion. But dude, seriously, not picky about this touring thing right about now.

Well, I like Tony a lot, too, but I think BT would be a much better match for JC's music (as far as we can guess from what we've heard). Also, let's face it: BT is a successful professional, acclaimed in his field. I have to think that touring with him would be perceived as a success for JC; possibly even a coup. Tony's still playing dive bars. That doesn't mean Tony's less talented, necessarily, but it does matter, particularly for an artist who isn't already established in his own right.

*nod* It's mostly the romance of the idea of JC and Tony on guitars and such, but you're absolutely right, BT has the street cred and the style that would better compliment what JC's going for with this album if we're to go by what we've heard. And like I said, whatever means I get to hear A.D.I.D.A.S. in its entirety the soonest.

Also... can you imagine hearing Force of Gravity live?

*faceplants on desk, reminding self not to get hopes up*

Oh, hope. Both the greatest human strength and weakness, did they not say? Can't for the life of me remember what movie, but it's something to that effect. And yet we continue to live in it! Someone much more famous once came up with the words 'for better or worse' and that's the motto of the day.

Dude, I haven't even been to an *NSYNC concert where it would've been diluted by five. I can barely survive watching JC in interviews. See, the dance songs I'd be okay on, but I don't know if my heart could take hearing the slow stuff like FoG and Build My World. Just, guh.
