still on the bus. had me a moment though.
Mar. 7th, 2002 02:27 pmthere's afternoon sunlight, a comfortable position in a bus seat (!!), and a desperately needed backrub involved. the fuzzies of being the calm, tranquil spot in the midst of a busful some thirty bustling people i got to know and befriend are settling in and spreading to ease my tired, achy limbs. the amazing experiences of the past four days keep replaying in my mind, yet i'm completely in the moment because i know why they were so special - i shared them. these people had seen me fall with the grace requisite to lose both skiis, watched as i sped (mostly) fearlessly down black diamonds, scarf an ice cream sandwich bigger than the palm of my hand, play the most embarrassing round of Simon Says, and get tipsy after two cans of miller light. it's incredible what a difference having a group of people to share in what thrills you can make, even after you've sworn you're better off sequestered where they can't ooze and impose all over you. they sometimes surprise and can in fact be pretty cool, too. i'd almost forgotten.
