My Reporting professor starts class with a story about a three-year-old's run-in with a rooster that turned into a satire of the formulaic police news story. There *is* creative writing in journalism! You wouldn't have known it from my lab section though.

I find it amusing that just a day after GIPing this Justin icon, new pictures surface where he's not only mingling with JC and Joey but growing his hair back. I'd get heady with my cosmic powers, but my ego's not nearly as healthy as everyone seems to think. Props to him on pulling double duty on SNL this weekend, too. No small feat, and how exciting, eh?

Yesterday's headiest bit of amusement, with credit to [livejournal.com profile] babygotbass:

There was lots and lots of laughing. Nothing like 80s music and a little ingenuity.

Wayne Brady was a real treat. Not only did we get Joey (by the way, I have a bathing suit in that shirt's pattern, which you know totally came from the Lance Bass for JC Chasez clothing line) but also a tour of Dr. Pepper High! Lots of fun. Joey looked fantastic (longer hair! He needs it for the show but eee!) and happy and Grease! His second production of it with the same director, about fifteen years apart, and how cool must that be for those who were there for both? Can't wait.

More fun with ringtones: They had Clubbed to Death and Bittersweet Symphony as well, interesting choices though not terribly practical. Highlights included Don't Stop Til You Get Enough, Copacabana, Faith *and* Father Figure, Heaven Is A Place On Earth (and dude, that's so begging for badfic right there), and I'm Too Sexy. Why they chose to go with the intro and not the chorus of Like A Virgin is a mystery and a real shame.

WebCT seems to be down, which means I get to wing the Stats test tonight without having watched a single lecture. I'm currently giving thanks to my kickass grade in that class to date and hope that managing a 94.3% on Sunday's quiz is a good sign.

Answers to the Four Things meme:

1. I'll do well never to become famous because there's video evidence of me Jello wrestling with two other girls.

True. I did a lot of crazy things senior year of high school after Play On! was over. I have stills because I had a disposable and employed an audience member, but somewhere out there is a videotape. Luckily for me, it's in the possession of someone who probably wouldn't make use of it.

2. I was at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for Mike Tyson's big comeback fight, have attended a live performance of Riverdance, and went to Space Camp.

True, true, and true. My brother and I went on an epic cross-country road trip with my father and his then-girlfriend the summer before seventh grade, and by total fluke ended up in Vegas the night it was going on. I studied tap dancing for three years so Riverdance was a real treat, and I went to Space Camp in the fifth grade. Astronaut is the first thing I can remember wanting to be.

3. I've made it through watching all three original Star Wars films in a row.

False, though it's not like I haven't tried. I think I made it up to the halfway point of Empire Strikes Back, but that's about it.

4. I went to a Marylin Manson concert and stuck it out absolutely squished front and center against the barricades, about four feet away from the stage.

True. Eleventh grade was a trip, man. The things I did because that boy thought they were good ideas. Not that I regret that experience one bit, but I could've done without the near-death thing in the Nine Inch Nails pit.

5. I was a natural at skating and skiing, but my highest bowling score is 86.

True. I have atrocious eye-hand coordination and no upper body strength.

I should've left Jon on the exempt list, but he was the only one who got it right. You know, seeing it laid out quite like that, I seem a lot more interesting than I really am. Trust me.

Note to self: sketch cracktastic Groundhog Day fic idea. Resist NaNoWriMo at all costs. Track down a copy of Bonfire of the Vanities. Resign yourself to not going to Houston. No, really.

LOL, cute icon.

Not so much with the insanity, though, I don't think. I coughed up 11,000 words this week and expect to continue such through the end of the year, when I get a one-month editing break in January. It just get to be... habit. Evil habit, but habit nonetheless.

Heh, thank you. I do love it lots, though all credit goes to [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow. She keeps me looking deceptively cool and clever.

Yes! You with the novel-writing and such collosal congratulations to you on that! Amazing and exciting stuff. I do write, but it's mostly journaling and the occasional consciousness-seizing fic idea, but nothing beyond 10,000 words yet. Most of the time, writing is such a process for me - NaNoWriMo would let me stop focusing so much on making it perfect and force me to just make it happen, you know?

Right. I think I tend to get caught up in the process too much, which is why this is a good step forward for me, I think. 1,600 words tonight!
