I saw Spaceballs before Star Wars, about a year after I came to the States, so not only did I lack the proper understanding of the language but also the popular culture savvy and necessary background to fully appreciate it. Still loved it. Love it even more now.

Props to Jon's folks on their cajun shrimp. Word to us on the, uh, place setting. Not so much to Jon, who managed to (allegedly accidentally) spray my entire right sleeve to the shoulder in the process of our washing dishes.

I saw Total Recall at about the same time, and remember not so much plot, but the outrageous makeup and disturbing effects. And yeah, all of that in spades (a grand total of three lingering shots of the three-breasted woman, thank you), plus some of the lamest dialogue, even for a Schwarzenegger flick.

Now, as I jealously guard my personal space, I tend to give others the same courtesy unless invited in. Yeah, I kinda took unapologetic advantage of Jon's overly generous offer of companionship, warmth, and cuddling comfort. And it was nice. Like, the ease and immediate good-feeling of it. I think this works in an inverse proportion: as much as I don't want most people all up in my business is exactly the amount I'm inclined to drape myself like a cheap suit all over those I love. So, belated apologies on that, but like you said, it was just needed in a way I didn't even know I lacked until it was fulfilled.
