Leave it up to Lance, eh?

I might need to sit down and figure out what to do with that boy before I can write any more. And also get Justin to New York already, if only as a kept man because it's Britney's agent who got her a job there and he's holding down the homefront while she works early to late hours most nights.

Heh. Maybe I just wanted to say "Justin" and "kept man" in the same paragraph. And, if you can keep a secret, in my weaker moments, I want to make JC's rent-paying occupation interior decorator.

This is why I have excellent beta readers and critics who aren't afraid to thwap me on the noggin.

-Michael Moore in his acceptance speech at the Oscars last night. Congrats to Eminem and go Adrian Brody. Total Best Kiss contender at the MTV Movie Awards.

Chris tosses the controller aside. "What's your problem?"

Lance stares at the blue screen. He wouldn't answer that question even if he did know. His skin itches, everywhere and he wishes that he could shed and start over fresh.

-No Consolation Prize by Sandy the Older

Miranda read the gangster AU! Miranda read the gangster AU! Had a very visceral reaction to that phone call. Love that story an unspeakably much. They were almost packed! Bawling like a wee thing.

PSA: Don't mistake having hope for naivete or worse, innocence. Aragorn is neither, but just because of the things he's seen, the things he knows he'll have to face, he's not the poster boy for jaded cynicism, either. No man who loves like that could be as ruthless or rootlessly optimistic as you want to make him.

In other news, I am a more informed citizen, a happier person and a better writer, among the many things I've gained all because of the people and conventions of fandom. Sometimes when others make me thing I should be doing other things, I remember that it's the people in California and New York who I want to converse with, and just because it's through the avenues of a fandom, doesn't make our discussion of current events and personal issues, the same conversations I would be having much less colorfully with "real world people" (select company who knows who they are excluded, of course), any less relevant or real.

Not to be one of those tacky/scary Domlijah people, but it's pictures like this that make a girl go squee-hmm. Boys seemingly without the vaguest notion of personal space are still a pretty novel thing over here.

Also, with my dose of happy for the day, I'm off to shower.

ETA: It is in fact all about people who oblige with fuel on the fanon. That is all.

After scoring a J-14 at Borders, I stopped off at Publix and walked out with half a gallon of milk (pre-emptive strike, I always run out between shopping trips) and a box of the Kraft stuff (the "cheesiest"). Haven't had it in forever but a dash of cilantro and garlic pepper and mmm, goodness.

In other news, the TV meme )

And now for some words of wisdom from Neil Gaiman:
"Relax. Fake it. Mean it. And you don't need to figure it all out before you start writing. You can figure it out while you're writing."
