It wouldn't be a very long one - I can drive from one end of the part of my township worth seeing to the other in about fifteen minutes.
But tonight, that was everything.
Love having a car. Love being able to get into said car and driving anytime, anywhere. It's my new thinking thing, since there's nowhere to walk in this town, no beaches to troll, no bustling avenues to peruse.
So, I went to town another way. I needed to think, and it wasn't gonna happen in my dorm room. And with the smell of rain and freedom (thanks to my heroes, the Journalism college dean and the lovely coordinator of the language department) high in the air, I took the night off, with pit stops as follows:
chocolate M&Ms at Turlington vending machine: $0.80
Dixie paper bowls and T.Marzetti's Fat-Free Dill Dip at Publix: $4.61
The Face and Entertainment Weekly at Borders: $12.99
Nothing at Wal-Mart, but going straight to hell for finding Daniel Radcliffe hot in that Harry Potter stand-up display for Chamber of Secrets. Also, Easter is an excessively pink holiday.
Verizon Wireless phone service: $35.99 per month (thanks for listening, Jon)
Chicken Lo Mein, two eggrolls, and an order of fantail shrimp at King China (and an eyeful of just *how* sketch kitchens can be): $8.06
Last Days of Disco and a bottle of Mello Yello (for the non-soda-drinker) plus late fee at Blockbuster: $7.66
Quarter of a tank of gas: $5.50
Good music, good driving weather, cooperative lights and parking in front of Murphree Hall besides: Priceless
In the garden I played the tart
I kissed your lips and broke your heart
ETA: Eeee! Movie night Saturday and Sunday! Clear your calendar, baby. A Perfect Murder (Viiiiiggo!) and Framed on TNT. Whoot!
