One of my absolute favorite pictures of him. Playful, sexy kitten that he is. Who wouldn't wanna play?
Love in the Trenches by Joie
JC was kneeling on the cold cement floor of the training room, quickly placing pieces of his radio into the hollowed-out books. He slammed the last book shut and shoved it into the knapsack. He rose to his feet, slung the bag over his shoulder, and looked at Justin expectantly.
"You were 17 seconds slower that time," Justin said, checking his stopwatch. "You need to get this under 90 seconds or else you might as well just hand yourself over to the Nazis."
"Merde," JC swore, putting down the knapsack.
"And stop speaking French," Justin said in rapid German. "You must get used to speaking in German. Your accent is still giving you away."
JC nodded. "Yes, okay," he replied in German. He kneeled down on the floor again, next to his knapsack. "Begin the timer again," he said, his soft accent seeping into the harsh, German words.
Justin sighed. "Begin," he said, starting the timer. As the seconds ticked by, he watched as JC deftly pieced together his radio, JC's eyes set in grim determination, his lower lip caught between his teeth.
JC the rookie Frenchman and Justin the young German revolutionary, radio operators reporting from behind enemy lines during the second World War and can I just take this moment to boggle at how amazingly this fic pulls it all off? Because, wow.
JC is the prettiest boy in all the whole wide world to have gone and yet to come, and by far the most adorably expressive. I love the leaked songs, have been humming Some Girls Dance With Women under my breath all day as a matter of fact. I love him in Vegas with his pink dress shirt, performing in that singularly passionate way. I love his easy, happy smile, his moppy hair and obscenely long torso, his honesty, his fashion sense, his work ethic. I could go on and give another thousand reasons, but suffice it to say that I not only adore but admire JC for all he is. It's been a pleasure to celebrate it this month.
