There are worse ways to make the best of waking up at 3:16 in the morning after having slept only three hours than watching The Reel *NSYNC and *N the Mix back-to-back.

But now I've got God Must Have Spent... in my head while my limbs are twitching in Tearin' Up My Heart choreography. And Jaycee! Lance was the fifth finger of the *NSYNC hand and they knew from the moment he started singing! "My favorite thing to do besides singing and dancing is sleeping, and I don't get to do that often, thankyouverymuch." The For the Girl... video is something else, man. And you know, some people said they were surprised by all the TrickyFish in the former, but I've come to a series of conclusions by which it makes sense. The Please Don't Go, bungalow tour plus ostrich (pet the babies! Ride the big ones! Eat the slow ones! Chrissopheeer!) excursion, and Do Run Run segments are still my favorites.

Oh, and Lance was totally butt-crazy in love with Joey. Dude, check the videotape, it's all there. Lanth!

There was a symposium of foreign journalists today that I checked out after the most unspectacular plate of spaghetti (though the chicken parmigana was good) at the Union. It ended up being really interesting, and I walked away with a bit of a crush (though it's probably mostly his name and accent) on Kaius from Finland. Mmm. Also, there was a reporter from Romania who is ethnically Hungarian (and has my last name), and he about shouted hallelujah when he found out I spoke it. We restrained our commentary during the second panel but had a good discussion afterward.

Package from mum arrived! Pumpkin bread and pretty cards from all kinds of family foreign and domestic, raspberry chocolate sticks and a Starbucks gift card and marcipan and, I kid you not, a Harry Potter babushka doll. Miranda was amused that Hagrid got the smallest one.

I cooked tonight, but really can't claim to have done much else. I'm working on a piece that's from Lance's point of view that feels creepy omniscient in the third person but won't lend itself to any of the other perspectives. It's like we're sitting around a campfire and he's telling me the story and we cut intermittedly to the action. How do you tell that without using the first person since it isn't strictly narrative?

Speaking of the boy, heard he walked the catwalk and did us proud last night. The Lance Dance at the end of the runway! And he brought the boyfriend! And today, he's going to tandem jump out of an airplane at 12,000 feet. Mazel tov, baby, and many more happy returns. Glad to see you celebrating the week in particularly high-falutin' style, too. *loves on him*

Journalism Nazi cancelled this week's article, which I forgot to mention yesterday. Oh, it's still a big fucking 'fuck you' to him, just without the headache of a soured weekend.

It's Friday and Miranda and I are gonna par-tay. There should be Junior's cheesecake in the mail and more baked goods before the weekend's out, not to mention a promised day of footage. Sunday night is dinner with Jon. Yay for birthdays!

"The *NSYNC audience from when we started has grown with us, I think those cats are digging it."
