Yesterday was lovely.
Dec. 28th, 2003 09:30 amSleeping in, waking up to an empty house ('rents are gone to Tennessee and probably won't spend more than three seconds of their time there ( skiing. )
So instead, I had a lovely lunch and conversation with my brother (whom I become more proud and happy to call my own every day) then went to lose myself in the black hole that is Sawgrass Mills. Do remind me not to do that. I never find anything, and everything about it just grates on my nerves.
Also, it's where to go when you want to run into people. Caught up with Neema, who's going to Spain next semester because she shares ( my school malaise. )
Anyway, walked very quickly by Chad Kaplan, who's gotten unfortunately stocky and (even less fortunately for me) no less hot. But the person I really want to mention was ( Brayden. )
So I tried on a sweater and he catcalled from his post in the juniors department, got a great deal on it - a cream-colored turtleneck I love to pieces and will get the chance to wear about three days out of the year in Florida - then we said our goodbyes. Brayden! It was good to see him. My New Year's resolution is definitely to be more social, I think. Lots of things are going to change this coming semester.
The photo developer at Wal-Mart may have derived some deep amusement from my assorted gasps, flails, squeals, and jumping around while I went through my pictures from Irving Plaza. Oh my god, but those are beautiful. I mentioned how the lighting that night was the best, right? Proof. So sad I only had two rolls of film on me, but oh, I think I now have all my favorite moments on film, and also one of those positively joyous expressions he made periodically through the show. The boy radiated happiness.
On my drive to Miranda's, I had the windows open and was blaring JC's show, singing and wailing along to One Night Stand. Yeah, the little girl in the family sedan in front of me may have chosen to pay attention around just relax baby, don't be shy. Oops. *g*
Seeing Miranda was great. I never really know I have things stewing in me until given an outlet to gush, and then watch out. I gave her a brief recap of the New York/Boston adventure and rambled about who remembers what.
( What is it with me and older men? )
I have high hopes to get a chance to read some SeSas today, as well as finish Prisoner of Azkaban and finally, finally make it to Order of the Phoenix before the break is out. I love that my ambitions need not be any taller for the time being.
Quote of the Day: (with thanks to
charlidos)
"Music is my entire life, so I think it's obviously important because some people out there have a future in it and they need to know about it. I always participated in the music programs, whether it is chorus or whatever, but I always wanted to try and play something or participate in something because that's what I was interested in... and it would be a shame to alienate something like that and take that away from somebody - the choice, the opportunity."
