Mmm, today.

[livejournal.com profile] xalxuffasch - many thanks for "lunch" and, as always, for letting me ramble about pretty boys much more than anyone not of the persuasion should have to endure.

[livejournal.com profile] tallories - So cool! Their entire itinerary, shows and interviews and hotels and traveling distances and my little canon-whore heart is all pitter-patter. This thing is such a grail of information, I can't thank you enough. I meant it when I said whatever, whenever.

[livejournal.com profile] starsprinkles - Made my day by posting a video file of the JoeC Coming-Out Conference. Well, no, not really, they were just talking about CFTC IV, but seriously, it's the most blatant display of body language I've ever seen. They were practically climbing into each others' laps. That is until Joey mentioned Briahna, and that's the fastest I've ever seen someone go from 60 to -3. Monsieur Chasez made me a little dizzy for a moment there.

[livejournal.com profile] kirsch - Posted the definitive Picture of the Day here, about 2/3 of the way down. It's Lance, all of maybe seventeen, gazing at a photograph of Joey. Miranda called it "quite beautiful," and I would have to concur, sir.

[livejournal.com profile] beth666ann wins for Fic of the Day, and man, that was no contest either. Maggie really does have the best ideas. Read all the hotness that is Bobbie/JC/Justin/Britney here. Doesn't the prospect alone just melt your brain?

[livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow - I'm glad you're alive, too. *g* You know there's no one I'd rather spend an evening with, whether it's lazing around on the Starbucks crushed velvet couch playing Fashion Geography, making a fool of myself trying to fit a Moe's Homewrecker into my mouth, doing aerobics, or warding off the real world until the last possible minute. Though I may be sucktastic at showing it sometimes, I appreciate you every single day.

Oh, and officially GIPing this icon. Jessie's got the keys! They ostensibly drove to lunch together! Those two warm my heart. Also, I am nothing but a grade-A sucker for a good pun.

And so with terrycloth twists in my hair, a most productive yet pleasant and joyously breezy day behind me and nothing but the best kind of certain insanity to look in the eye tomorrow, I bid you all a fond good night.

[ETA: Oops, forgot to call the office back. One of the April Fool's stories Laura was going to run had to do with Jesus being invited to speak at the O-dome - yet, according to a commercial I saw during Law & Order last night, he will do just that on April 11th.

...

I am just as intrigued as the rest of you.]
aruan: (JC - lickable)
SciFi is rerunning the first episode of The X-Files I ever saw. I remember sitting on the floor in front of the television and being quite frightened as the El Chupacabra had just made news in Miami, where a whole slew of goats had been found exanguinated a couple of weeks ago. No lie.

Today was just as crazy as I'd predicted. Early class, copy editing test for the Miami Herald (which went swimmingly, I add with no small measure of pride), ran home to change and grab a bite, ran to the Reitz, ran into Miranda (though less literally), attended a journalism conference.

'She's a professional journalist, and I am not fourteen' was pretty much the mantra. )

Someone scribbled over the bus stop sign at the Union station so 'Frat' is now 'Brat' Row. Teehee.

Got a call from [livejournal.com profile] giddyupnow during work. She tells me we're not going to Vegas until late on the 20th (we were supposed to spend the entire day there.) I pout a little - until she tells me it's because she got us Wayne Brady tickets. Assuming the Friday show at the Los Angeles HOB is still on, that's five straight days of Chasez. How did I ever get so lucky?

I like to think of my journal and the world at large as church and state. )

Even if I take five nothing but journalism classes for the next two semesters, I'm not going to graduate on time. It's... a relief to be able to say it and have it be okay because I like it here. I like having found my niche, feeling like I'm working toward something.

Oh, and GIPpittyGIP, from the generous [livejournal.com profile] powrhug. In retrospect, I really shouldn't have been surprised at the results of that most frequent words meme.

Picture of the Day:

Don't you love it, too? )

From the desktop of one of the computers at work. Which also has two miscellaneous pictures of Lance saved in the My Documents folder. Must track this coworker down.
aruan: (Lance - smart is sexy)
See, I'd say I've been repressing it, but mostly, I'm just still having too much fun with this semester and want to knooow already about summer. France! The Sorbonne! What could compare?

Why, in fact, the entire schedule of courses next semester.

Wantotakeveryclass.

-Medieval English Literature is being offered sometime other than second period!
-There's something new called U.S. Social History 1945-1975!
-Advanced Social Psychology!
-Nonverbal Communication!
-Language and Culture!
-Development of World Civilizations!

And linguistics and European history and Asian culture and aerospace sciences and a whole slew of anthropology courses and, and, I need to take a breath from squeeing so hard.

There are open sections for all the classes I still need to take in the J school, but come on! Just because I'm theoretically graduating at the end of next year doesn't mean I have to stop well-rounding my education, right?

Aaand the copy desk chief says I have porn. Heh. If she only knew. *goes back to work*
