stay cool, my babies
Apr. 8th, 2004 11:03 pmThis morning's assignment in Editing was pretty cool. He had us write a ten-inch story plus headline and subhead covering Condoleezza Rice's statement to the Sept. 11 commission. We were all pretty cute, sitting on the concrete walkway all gathered around the five plasma-screen televisions in the Journalism courtyard.
Only thing was, I re-realized I like newswriting. And am good at it. But damnit, I have to remember I don't like talking to strangers any more than I did yesterday. This was easy - do the background, listen to the speech, take notes. *sigh* I don't know.
Apparently, one of the copy desk chiefs, Kelly, also postponed taking a class because it was taught by my Editing prof. It's not as if we don't gripe about him office-wide on more nights than not, but it still feels vindicating that I'm not the only one frustrated out of my wits at him.
Anyhow, I did what any logical person would do after a high-stress, goal-confusing situation - took a four-hour nap. It's been touch-and-go with the whole sleep thing for the past few days. *fists of fury at hormones* This was a nice alternative to the quality I have been getting.
Also, Conan is doing my absolute favorite skit of all time and space tonight: He's taking out the desk. I am excited to little bitty pieces, I truly am.
And sometimes, it's just that easy. *snogs Conan*
