"Oh my god, it's the Prince song!"
May. 16th, 2004 02:02 amWow. I had no idea going to Europe would be this expensive. Will spare the gory details for the benefit of everyone. Also, why did no one remind me the 14th of July is Bastille Day?! I would've flown out a day later to be around for that.
Did oogobs of nothing today, but I'm all caught up on LJ, have a Eurail pass, am further along in my camera research, have narrowed down my travel guide book options to two, finally found a suitable backpack, have started making master lists of stuff to take care of before leaving, and have kept the freaking out during all of it to a bare minimum. *pats self on back*
Went to Barnes & Noble where the Starbucks barista, as many people in front of whom I open my wallet, noticed my *NSYNC card (my first-ever piece of swag, thanks to
alestar) in the transparent middle pocket and declared it "rockin'." Back in the day, she allegedly learned the choreography to I Want You Back with a group of her friends - flipping and all. *impressed* She also demanded I "[not] be a hero" upon my declining whipped cream on my Iced Caramel Macchiato. In the end, I conceded that, yes, it did look better all fluffy and drizzled with caramel and promised to pick my battles more wisely. *g* Good times.
While dismayed by the news about A.D.I.D.A.S., I'm also completely unsurprised. *sigh* Swear, this whole solo venture has been some bizarre bout of karmic retribution for the boy, as if the universe operated on Highlander principles. Or something. I'm almost out of righteous indignation, and that's saying a lot.
Now I'm just sitting here waiting for the caffeine to wear off, grooving to Let's Go Crazy. Not being cocky here but man, it really is a kickass recording.
