Online Comm professor went ahead with not only the scheduled quiz on Wednesday but a complex in-lab assignment that same afternoon. Now, I understand that he probably didn't realize what the 3rd of November would mean this year, but as soon as he did, he should've had some fucking consideration for those of us who may not have been in the proper state of mind/sleep that day to reschedule, even if it'd meant pushing it up.
However,
walkingshadow joined me for Lost that night (Dommeh! Waaah!) as well as some eminently entertaining and fascinating bit of PBS programming called Regency House Party afterward, which involves taking regular Brits and assigning them roles in a Regency-era household based on their status in society today that would correspond to the class/rank of that era. The men are gorgeous and becoming pompous asses more quickly than you can image, while the women are already chafing from the ridiculous social constructs. They are costumed, they have no modern conveniences, they play their parts, and it is so, so good. Drawn Together, however, is the most cracktastic bit of television ever conceived. Ever. I make no qualifications about this assessment.
Thursday saw McKeen lecturing in Ethics, my fairly screaming my frustration and anger about the election and its consequences to the whole of the UF campus on Krissi's and my walk from class to the post office and back before I went home, read more of If You Are Prepared and took a very badly needed three-hour nap. We took Roommate Night, sans Natalie who is at a nursing conference, to the Florida Museum of Natural History for their chocolate exhibit, at which we taught ourselves a bit of ecology and history, watched a bit of chocolate porn and ate truffles of much goodness, apricots and strawberries and pretzels all covered with semisweet dark chocolate, and I even snuck an unwittingly procured bit of contraband white chocolate. *guh*
Finally, today I spent an unprecedented three hours studying for a Law exam, an effort somewhat hampered by the incomplete study guide and the confounding answer options to unnecessarily complex questions, but it's done, and the weather has decided to stop being uncharacteristically insensitive to better sensibilities and now necessitates a light jacket to romp around outside, and also, it's Friday, to which I say OMGYAYTHNX.
And with that, I'm off to console myself about not having a single line to contribute to the WIP meme going around. *sigh*
