My headlines for the FCC hearings article so far:

Viacom chief chafing from Congressional hearings
FCC's panties in a wad over brassiere "malfunction"
Too many have nothing to do with their lives
War, debt, jobs? Jackson's breast issue of the day
Halftime incident has politicians taking a closer look
From "malfunction" to Congress: one breast's story

And the night is yet young!

However, the copy desk plus Cameron are heading to Leonardo's for dinner now, and hopefully, digesting will quell my acid reflux-inducing indignation enough to write a headline actually suitable for publication tomorrow.

But it's soo good. Who cares that the head line will be like a page and a half long. What happened to truth in journalism. The headline speaks the truth.

Though something that might fit: Congress misses brain, more

Oh, those are all perfectly suitable headlines as far as size. It's a banner article on Page Five, 738 picas. They're just, well, not appropriate. Maybe if they'd let me turn it into a scathing feature piece.

I adore this one. It had me laughing out loud.

Hopefully you can find something that is appropriate.

Actually, that was the copy desk chief's second choice (she highlights the top three of all the ones we submit, then our editors pick the one they like best) for the headline. *g* Thank you.

I vote for this one. Too bad you can't really use it.

We really, really can't. But oh, to live in a world where we could. Apparently, that's not in the cards anymore, if it ever was. So sad!

Yes! How have we not heard the breast's side of the story?! I think we're overlooking the real victim here in the media circus and scramble for publicity. Where's Barbara Walters? Where's the Lifetime Original Movie? Where's the ghost-written Flapping In The Breeze: My Tenth of a Second of Shame and Fame and why has it not yet rocketed to the top of the bestseller list?

The fact that that headline was a play on the American Idol movie amuses me to no end.

Totally agreed with you. And what about her left breast? The one that declined to participate in this deplorable stunt but has nonetheless been slandered and vilified? Where is justice there?

Flapping In The Breeze: My Tenth of a Second of Shame and Fame

LOL. In a big way. And don't you worry, there'll be a decent SNL skit or South Park moment or Daily Show mock-interview soon enough. Otherwise, there really is no hope for television.
