Finally had a chance to listen to the new JC songs. First of all, I have no clue at all why Right There wasn't on the album and the one in line for second single (though the new rumors that it may be Come To Me - other than it not being a radio-format-friendly song, it's a solid choice. Who knows? Change the world, JC. I would follow.)

Anyone else think Slept With My Best Friend is an odd hybrid of She Got Me and Mercy?

For the record, no crit I ever have regarding any of JC's songs ever applies to the bridge. Ever. That man's bridges go straight to my nucleus accumbens. *fizzle*

I may have written a song yesterday morning, quite possibly a ripoff of Garbage's Wicked Ways as far as lyrical structure. But yeah, my first ever, done in fifteen minutes and saved only by virtue of its tongue-in-cheek title. But saved! Still not something anyone will ever see, but pretty cool. Random, but cool.

The Lynncest+JC fic, if ever finished, might never see the light of day. I'm writing the words and some part of my brain is always going, 'Wow, I had no idea you had it in you.' Uh, apparently, I did. Huh.

Miranda and I had dinner with my co-worker, Staci, and Natalie, the two girls we'll be living with next year. Mexican food, margaritas, and a tableful of smart, funny girls - yeah, just as good a time as you'd think.

Word is there is to be an office picnic! We're going to divide into teams based on departments and have contests! This is going to be probably pathetic but fun and good thing she mentioned it, because it's April 17th - I was going to fly out the 16th.

Speaking of the trip - California and Vegas (Vegas, baby! It's such an automatic reaction now, usually a bit too loud and accompanied by devil horns!) How flippin' excited am I? 'Outrageously' tries to sum it up, but falls woefully short.

Oh, and GIP. Best friends, man. You show me when Lance smiles like he does when Joey's by his side.

Also, Milkshake needs to diiie. Or at least get far, far away from my brain, in which it has festered for much too long.

It's funny that you mention Milkshake in the same post as your JC review because I was just thinking that the beginning of "Right There" sounds an awful lot like Milkshake.

And yes. His bridges? Guh.

Eee! LancemanhandlingJoeyistehhot! Because, well, hello.

Ahem. Anyway.

I think I mentioned no fewer than three songs when I was trying to describe Right There yesterday: Usher's Yeah, Kylie's Slow, and Kelis' Milkshake. But it's definitely closest to the last one. If you think about the song in those terms, there's no logical reason it wouldn't be an absolute smash on mainstream radio right now. Which it so, so would.

It is! And I refreshed a zillion times to see your icon, but it wasn't showing up for me (LJ, grrr) Now I see it, though. Lovely!

Heh. Ooops. The FL was really busy Fri/Sat; I had to do a lot of skimming. But yes, Milkshake. I wonder what JC thought when he heard it on the radio.

It's not showing up for me either. I've uploaded it three times and refreshed my icons page a few as well, and no dice. *pokes LJ* But good to know it's actually there.

Oh, not you, this was a conversation I had over AIM. *g*

I wonder what JC thought when he heard it on the radio.

Oh, man, I can't imagine. The poor boy has not caught a single break on this album. But honestly, even before Milkshake, it's the kind of song that's huge on radio right now, especially with Spring Break. *shakes head* While I don't think this song is representative of the album's scope (except, hello, yes, with the title/theme) I think it would go a long way to selling it to a mainstream audience.

I swear, pop-culture-savvy fans would be so useful on every artist's management team.

I'm 100% with you on Right There! I adore that song.

Seriously! Why that song didn't make it and Mercy did, I'll never understand. His voice, the rhythm - it's a standout track.

Are the JC songs actually on single disks, or are they only an internet thing?

One is off the Asian import and the other one was the free download through musicfreedom.com.

Unfortunately, I don't have AIM. It messes up my computer.

Thank you for offering, though, hon ^_^.

Fizzle! Yes! I short-circuit and become useless during the bridges, especially Everything You Want, Build My World and Right There.

You know, for me, there is absolutely nothing like the bridge of Blowin' Me Up, and especially knowing first-hand what it does to a roomful of people. There are no words. Well, there are, they were just edited from the final version of the live track. ;)

The whole of Everything You Want renders me weak. The bridge of Build My World makes me cry a little every single time. And Right There, well, that's just an all-around orgiastic good time of a song, isn't it? ;)
