The road to hell, I should remember.

aruanWell, for all my good intentions, the office had ice cream for dinner last night, and I didn't have a chance to make it to the gym this afternoon whatwith getting my stories and resume in order for the Herald interview tomorrow. *meep* Exciting but it'll be my first, and I'm notoriously bad in the face of things I want. Maybe he'll find my desperation endearing.
Seriously though, if they don't hire me on that cover letter alone, there's something wrong with the world.
So, that airfare I was looking at last week? The conflict with which, by the way, was eminently resolvable? Yeah, now at over $1000. Even the girl at STA Travel was asking me what was going on in the middle of April. We decided it was high school Spring Break. Bah.
It looks as though the only affordable way of flying in is Monday morning, which is neither here nor there as there'll be plenty of time to sleep in line. I'm debating when to fly out though. I want to have omelettes on Venice Beach again, actually have time to stroll through the shops and such. I'd like to check out the beer emporium Schiz mentioned, hit up Mel's again and maybe that deli I had the world's most awesome sandwich at on my first trip to California almost six years (!) ago, and finally canvass Disneyland. If I'm already out there, I might as well stay out there, right?
The epic fic I was sucked into this weekend continues along. Twenty-nine out of an unnecessarily large number now, and I know so much better than to expect stories with that many parts to be anything more than tedious at best.

gratuitous heterosexuality (don't ask, it involves much too long an explanation)
And apparently, as it so often happens, chocolate is the answer. Mmm. Also, how crazy excited is everyone over the E! True Hollywood Story thing? I squee a little every time the commercial for it comes on.
