*snicker* The Sports department is on fire tonight (see below.)

I needed that nap this afternoon from all the marathoning around this morning.

Having belligerently stayed awake as late as I could last night, which ended up being a paltry three o'clock, meant I woke up just this side of not ready to face the world. However! In spite of this significant handicap, I managed to clear up both holds on my university record, finally made it to the post office (they took the original of my citizenship certificate! *sob* Please send it back in good health) and even got to French with time to spare! I rawk.

The new Edison set pictures have been downright inspiring. While I don't particularly have anything past a compliment on Cry Me A River and a little good-natured ribbing about you're out of this world except you're not green to say to Justin, I want to sit the man in these pictures down at a cafe and discuss international politics, the myriad pending legislation on Capitol Hill, the Patriot Act, rising oil prices - anything at all. I want to know his views on the presidential race and his personal politics, the latest dirt he's dug up or how he got that person to give up the damning final nail in the coffin of the last corruption scandal he exposed. I want to walk past him in a newsroom and see him chewing the end of his pen as he stares intently at the dockets of the newest case file he spent a half-hour cajoling out of the hardass courthouse clerk yesterday afternoon, see him laughing along with a coworker in the lounge, copy edit his stories with him reading over my shoulder and write his headlines.

Sidenote: The Detours people must get so much more wasted than most of us have ever known to write the drivel they do. *shakes head*

My friend Paula has a horse, but I didn't know she kept it at a local stable where she apparently works, too, and extended an open invite to come riding this weekend. I do like horses but never really had the chance as a kid, so this is very exciting indeed.

So now it's four shows in five days. *gulp* And you know we're standing in line for all of them (though arguably not in temperatures even approaching those in December. Brr, baby, brr. Although I did learn some neat cold-weather tricks.) Special breed indeed.

Quote of the Day:

"God must be a Gator because the sun is orange and the sky is blue, my friends."
-the Sports copy editor

Indeed. Or you know, something.

horseback riding! I envy you right now.
I am in dire need of some horse time.
I have two of them but they're back in Minnesota on the family farm.
Have extra fun for me. :)

Aaaw! Are you away at school now?

And thank you, it sounds lovely. I haven't been on a horse in about ten or so years, so this is all terribly exciting. It's still a little touch-and-go with the riding, but I love horses, so it should be all good once we're there.

No, I moved here to Washington four years ago. I fly home several times a year to see family, so that's when I get my riding in now days.
