your life is now

So, wow. Today felt like day enough for three. There was school work and good intentions for more, lots of phone calls and comments about France, which as I've said I'm absolutely mindless with excitement about. I mean, France! Paris! The Sorbonne! It's a dream, an honest-to-God dream I've had since forever, and it's soon to be real. Must find maps and talk about classes and arrange housing and book tickets and figure out about somehow touring the rest of Europe on the side.

And maybe breathe. Because, wow.

My parents razzed me about choosing the four- instead of six-week program, but this one not only got me in the city and school I wanted, but back in plenty of time for Challenge, which was non-negotiable. Challenge is special to me in so many ways beyond the boys - though let's not underrate that part. *g* So, basically, perfect, and I can't wait at all.

I'd picked up a GatorWell magnet on my way home from Einstein's this morning that says, "Dream - 'It's kind of fun to do the impossible.' -Walt Disney." Not that I believe in them, but that's good omen enough for a lottery ticket tomorrow.

My hair... smells nice. I went to a woman in town on the recommendation of a friend and got it cut for the first time in an embarrassingly long time. It's a little shorter than I wanted, but cute. And bouncy! My hair bounces again. I can work with it.

Got sucked in by Armageddon while my frozen pizza was baking in the kitchen. I've only seen the movie once until tonight, and that was when it came out, and swore to myself never again, it strung me out so bad. Nothing like the destruction of the world to keep me on the edge of my seat. This time I just bawled like the big girl I am. Ben Affleck! Bruce Willis! I really am fourteen at heart.

I'm so, so sorry I can't remember who posted this link on my friendslist, but I simply must share, too, because it really is the most darling thing in all the world: Who Is That With Jeremy? Especially the Law & Order actors. Aieee! My sugar levels, I'm fairly certain, do not allow for that much cute in one sitting.

Aaand I'm spent. Good night, all, from JC's Tipsy Snow Bunny. *snicker* Too, too true.

[ETA: Dude, The Rock just called someone in the NBA 'cat.' That Chasez boy's not quite as stuck in the 80s as we thought, eh? ;) ]

Paris! The Sorbonne! So jealous!!!

I'm jealous of myself! Seriously, this is such a huge thing, I can barely believe it. The Sorbonne has been this legendary, coveted place in my house since my parents found out I had the smart. But I took French in high school because I loved the language (even though the infinitely more practical choice in South Florida would've been Spanish) and have loved it and Paris for my own reasons since even before then. I'm out of my mind with excitement and feeling a little surreal in the way you always do when something you've always dreamt of is actually happening.

Pace que, oui indeed. Man, I should make a shirt. Hee!

I'm so happy that you're going to do one of the travel abroad programs! You'll have to do bi-weekly updates with plenty of photographic accompaniment on LJ, of course :-) And to fit in Challenge as well! Your summer schedule sounds fabulous! In an ideal world, in addition to you being in Paris and another certain somebody in England, I'd be doing my summer Shakespeare program in Stratford as well and visiting y'all. However, that hope was sadly sacked due to the conflicts with Challenge, work, and the need to have money for housing in the fall. Sigh. However, that just means I'll have to not be employed for a while after graduating and take the Grand Tour at a more leisurely pace, crashing at various friends' places along the way. Hee. Care to join me as a tour guide? ;-)

PS. I love The Rock for so many different reasons. That just adds to the pile. Hee!

I've been paying lip service to studying abroad for forever, and it actually took a lot for me to finally send the application to the French program even though I took the class this semester expressly for that purpose. Foreign country! Language I'm not entirely fluent in! But it's nothing but exciting now, I happy to say.

Oh, my parents are springing for a good digital camera before I leave. They might not know it yet, but yeah, no question there'll be gluts and gluts of pictures.

I know! The Challenge stipulation ruled out most of the other programs, but I wasn't gonna not have my cake, y'know?

Dude, I'm all about hitting up all the people I know on the continent. I'm trying to figure out the costs and logistics of traveling for a couple of weeks or possibly more. But you know me - you say the word whenever, and I'm there.
