Brother returned safe from his journey on the high seas last night only to take me back with him this morning to see our new boat. It's nice, 32 feet long, two tiers plus a nice below-decks setup. We grooved to A.D.I.D.A.S. on the way, which he immediately demanded go on the next mix CD I make for him. Proof that good taste is heredetary! Once on the boat, we mostly listened to the radio, and let me just say that if I never have to hear Naughty Girl or that horribly whiny Evanescence song again, it'll be all too soon.

Sunned and burned in about equal parts. *sigh* I can't win.

So, okay, heard an advertisement that Britters will be in West Palm Beach on the 27th of July, which was the date for Tampa a month ago so who knows what's going on now, but not having to drive four and a half hours would be fabulous. But while we're all here, I think JC needs to show love to the hometown. Club tour season shouldn't be over on the 16th of this month, and Orlando's been shafted by he and Justin alike. What's up with that? I think JC should make it a personal prerogative to set things right.

Never let it be said that lemon raspberry cream cheesecake (*worships at the altar of the Cheesecake Factory*) doesn't make everything better, even three and a half hours of my father. He's also the only man who'll recommend I get a doctorate degree and give Internet dating a whirl in the same breath. *rolls eyes*

Randomly, in the middle of dinner, I remembered the word for exploring caves - spelunking. In Hungarian, the equivalent roughly translates to "going caving." *snuggles English* I love that there's an entirely different word for it in our vernacular.

Around half past midnight, as we very wearily made our way home, there was a very sizeable chunk of tire in the very middle of a very dark stretch of freeway on which I was very much doing 80 mph. Despite all that, it was one of my nicer swerves on record. Booyah for reflexes.

I think so too. We should all write him a note and let him know that he needs to come home! ;)

Dude, I'm all for it! I'd totally drive the two hours instead of, you know, having to fly clear across the country to see him shake his pretty little ass. Plus, hometown love! They don't grow it any better.

Heh. Spelunk is Old English for 'cave' though (like spelonk in Dutch), so in a practical sense you're still saying 'going caving'. ;)

And that's what I get for not checking my etomology before posting. *stands corrected* Thanks for the tip!

Huh. The science of caves is speleology.
Exploring caves is also called "pot-holing" (Brit.) and the people I know who do it regularly just call it "caving".

All you smart people! I should've checked the meaning for its roots before posting, but I got a little carried away with my dorkdom.

And see, my immediate reaction to 'caving' is something I wouldn't want going down in any cave I'm near, much less in.

According to TM, West Palm is the 27th, and Tampa is the 28th. I just wish the West Palm tickets had been on sale before I bought the Tampa ticket. *sigh* Oh well, I've already resigned myself to taking the whole week off anyway.

Thanks for looking that up. We don't yet have tickets, so it didn't much matter for us, but that sucks for you, I'm sorry. And yeah, depending on how you slice it but really irregardless of it, Challenge does end up being a week's party. :) Looking forward!
