aruanIn my own defense, I had four drinks and an entire show's worth of anticipation built up by the time he got to this song, hence the fangirling all over the beginning. Apologies on that. Otherwise, it's pretty darn fabulous. We weren't in the pit that night, so the recording doesn't have the immediacy of the previous tracks, but trust that we were appropriately enthused. giddyupnow, who is much more beloved by the technology than I am.

Date: May 15th, 2004 07:30 am (UTC)This was the only thing I recorded that night, and quite miraculously in spite of a whole slew of problems (security, microphone troubles, battery life - we had it all.) If Friday's performance, for which I was second row center, comes out at all (as MiniDiscs are strange and fickle and work in mysterious ways I don't pretend to understand) hopefully that'll give a better idea overall since this was his first outing with the song. But yes, preservation for posterity!

He's crazy and wonderful and puts so much of it in there we're always a little on the edges of our seats that it (or he) is going to spill over off the stage one of these days. Nothing compares to seeing it live, but this is a fun little memento if you've got the proper visuals to go with it.
