come sing a song with me
Jun. 23rd, 2004 01:39 pmOh, fair Paris, how will I ever leave you? Well, on the EuroStar come next week, but still!
Which is to say, welcome to the phase of my trip where I just want it to go on until I'm good and ready to move on, which isn't next week, but so it goes. The rest of Europe awaits! I am all aquiver with excitement. Today will be shopping, as it is the first day of mad discounts all over the city, and the Louvre, as my mother will put me on the next plane back if I don't make it there, and Kelsey has agreed to come see a show at the Moulin Rouge with me, which should be fantastic.
A few notes:
Firstly,
beatpropx, I need your address so you, too, can have a Parisian postcard - iwan2kno@ufl.edu, or leave and delete a comment.
walkingshadow, I hope London is wonderful and that you'll make it out here before I leave.
giddyupnow, kick those finals in the arse.
crazybutsound, those Lyonnaise pillows were amaaazing and I miss you already.
raaone, thank you so much for organizing everything for Challenge.
xalxuffasch, hope all worked out on the employment front and that you're otherwise gainfully spending your summer.
coolwhipdiva and
runerinrun, as the two I consider my fashion-savviest friends, I think of you often upon browsing St. Michel and Galleries LaFayette. Thoughts of JC, which come no less often, are always accompanied by pangs for
without_me and
geminigirl38.
Which is to say, as I've done so before and will do again, I miss you all terribly, and while enjoying myself immensely in the process, cannot wait to get back to the real world. As it were.
Order of the Phoenix update: Book 5 is alternately disturbing, lagging a bit, and confounding as I feel there are too many things going on that I can't sort out. However, only being on page 399 of it, there's plenty of time for things to get more topsy-turvy. But that Umbridge woman had better bite it, and hard. Words do not do justice to my horror at her detentions.
P.P.S. I love my fabulous Parisian hair and shall look into the French equivalent of fruit baskets for the stylist. Orgy of vanity update to come.

Date: June 28th, 2004 05:56 am (UTC)On the 11th we are leaving to go to Connecticut for a week (househunting). Will you be headed elsewhere by that day? You're welcome to stay as long as we're still here. I think our flight leaves around noon on Sunday the 11th, so we'll be headed out sometime mid-morning. Hope this all fits in with your plans!
