Greetings from London! Where I wear three layers and a scarf in July and still manage to be cold. Edinburgh was just lovely and I wish I'd never left, especially all cooped up in J.K. Rowling's old cafe haunts. Mmm. Miranda and I could've stayed forever, and were in fact planning to take jobs and marry English boys when my mother called.

As for the other journal, a computer disaster on my end has pretty much laid waste to any minor hope I still harbored of getting it up before I got home. *sigh* Such is life. I'll post it as I get the entries done and typed up and coded when I arrive back Stateside, and that'll be that.

We will still be in London for at least some part of the day tomorrow, and I'm wondering if anyone would wish us a happy Fourth if they knew we were Americans. Probably not, as this is possibly the most awkward place to be for that holiday, and who knows what they learned about that period beyond a group of huffy ex-patriats wanting the paddling pool for all their own.

In other news, while I'm looking forward to the remainder of my sojourn, I'm also going to be so very, very happy to go home in eleven days. Living out of a suitcase and traveling and sightseeing is only romantic until one needs clean underwear, a wheel on one's case breaks, one has seen enough portraits to become blase about them, and one feels broken of one's internet habit. Mostly, I want my life back.

[livejournal.com profile] halimede - This number: 44 7721 658 075 is [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow's cellular phone, and I will be with her until at least noon tomorrow. Call anytime you see this tonight or tomorrow before then and we can finalize travel and meeting and god, I'm so sorry I haven't gotten hold of you, but internet access in London is, unreally enough, at a premium, and your phone number is somewhere in limbo.

Cheers to Kelsey for keeping me updated on the news. I'll be back in town to frolic with you on the 11th or so, love - hope there's enough floor to go around for a few nights.

Love and miss you all. You're in my thoughts more than you know, and I can't wait for Challenge.

Good to hear from you, hon, and thanks for the cool postcard! We miss you! It's just not as sparkly without you around...

Glad you liked the postcard, and thanks for the sentiment. The sparkle is lacking on this end, too, but there's Challenge in a week and really, there'll be enough sparkle there to choke a horse, so it's perhaps good that I've had a bit of a break.

So great to hear from you! I thought you got lost in Europe. lol

It *is* really cold here, isn't it? Hope the cold doesn't stop you from enjoying London.

Heh, I did get lost in Europe for a long minute, and it really is very cold. Almost hard to believe the heat wave last summer. But yes, back, and attempting the impossible task of catching up. *cowers* Although, that sort of media/picture/news glut is enough to curl my littlest toe. Fandom! *hugs it tight*

My English friends used to wish us Happy Good Riddance Day ... ;-)
