I'm going out on a bit of a Lost & Found limb here, because try as I might, these things continue to elude me:

-the excellent summary post of The Wank, complete with links and screencaps
-JC's remix of Sean Paul's Get Busy - I listened to it streamed an umpteen number of times, but the technology loves me not at all and wouldn't download (thanks [livejournal.com profile] sheherazade_ii!)
-a Harry/Draco film noir detective AU thing I read the first three paragraphs of over a year ago which has been haunting me (thanks [livejournal.com profile] nonchop!)
-the JC interview of 'Teer luuurve - I don't even know which magazine it was published in! (thanks [livejournal.com profile] escapist_xbq!)

Okay, when it's a week of LJ, it takes about two good days to get back on my feet. But two months? Let's not do that again. To that end, I've caught up on what I can, made peace with writing off the rest, and in the process have done quite a bit of friendslist reshuffling. There's no good way to go about this, but while my interest in fandom continues as it ever has, the amount of time I have to keep up with LiveJournal will diminish exponentially once school/real life starts again, and I'm barely keeping up with things as it is right now, so I'll just say that I'm sorry if anyone is offended. As far as whatever you decide, I never friendslock anything, a policy that will continue to stand so long as I have the luxury.

And the only meme that struck my fancy in two months:

Twenty Questions to a Better Personality:

You are an SEDL -- Sober Emotional Destructive Leader. This makes you a dictator. You prefer to control situations, and lack of control makes you physically sick. You feel have responsibility for everyone's welfare, and that you will be blamed when things go wrong. Things do go wrong, and you take it harder than you should.

You rely on the validation and support of others, but you have a secret distrust for people and distaste for their habits and weaknesses that make you keep your distance from them. This makes you very difficult to be with romantically. Still, a level-headed peacemaker can keep you balanced.

Despite your fierce temper and general hot-bloodedness, you have a soft spot for animals and a surprising passion for the arts. Sometimes you would almost rather live by your wits in the wilderness somewhere, if you could bring your books and your [notebook].

You also have a strange, undeniable sexiness to you. You may go insane.

Interesting. It needs to be read a certain way to be accurate, as all personality tests/horoscopes/whathaveyou must be, but on the whole, interesting.

Ha, I was just thinking about you! I found out that my friends' funk band is playing in this huge show in September. If you and Miranda were free and wanted to come up, 9/18 would be a great time to do so.

If things don't work out by the time that rolls around, no worries, for I am bound and determined to go visiting with you two one way or another. *hugs*

Okay, I will say this in my CFTC recap post which is coming, but I'm so, so sorry for falling asleep while you and Val were over, but the sun got to me much worse than I thought and there would've been getting sick and/or no going out that night otherwise. Mea culpa! So, yes, we need to meet up for more substantial interaction soon.

Well, the only thing that would checker that is the fact that I'm driving down to Miami two weeks before that and driving up to Valdosta less than two weeks after, so I don't know how in the mood - or budget - for driving I'll be in between. But 9/18 is still oogobs of time away, so let's check calendars again a bit later?

Absolutely. Floaty type dates and plans are sometimes my favourite things.

As for the CFTC thing, don't even worry your pretty little head about it. Situations like that always throw everyone for a loop, and I'm personally on the side of taking care of yourself above much else. Lord knows I would've done the same. :)

Eeep! Pleaseandthankyou. I have webspace and Yahoo! Messenger (sadly, not AIM on this computer). Or perhaps e-mail? I think Webmail can handle something under 5MB.

My brother walked in just as I queued it up on Windows Media Player and promptly started grooving. He of the A.D.I.D.A.S. fetish as well. Heh. And whee! Thank you so much! It really is a marvy mix, too bad there isn't more of it.

Mmm, the 'Teerlove interview . . . refresh a girl's memory, what else was in it? Was it the one where JC talked about working in a factory as well? If that's the one, then I have it, and can even provide a hard copy, should you wish it.

I was also a Dictator, if I recall correctly.

Yes, the very same interview that mentioned JC working in a factory. I've never even read it! Believe it came out just before the Week of Chasez back in April, and being without access all week, it was old news by the time I got back. I'd love any sort of copy of it.

Heh. And yet we're such friendly kids! Who played well with each other, no less! Some dictators.

Also, going to get the CD with your picture on it right now. Look for a post in the next ten minutes should all the technology decide to cooperate with me... *runs upstairs*

P.S. As much as I hate that you had occasion to make that icon, it nonetheless rocks righteously.

Here's that happy interview. He talks about wearing a hairnet. So much love for this interview.

And she didn't scan it in, but in the hard copy I have, they also include that picture of JC and Bobbie holding hands as they walk down the street, with Justin off to the side looking vaguely perturbed - do you know the one I mean? I'll bet you do.

Let this icon soothe away the niggling yet honest sting of my previous icon.

Oh, thank you. Somuchloveeee! I've got a whole 'nother post coming just on that interview alone, as it got much too long for a comment very fast.

I do know said picture. It's pretty and interesting and has about three different interpretations depending on who's looking at it. Oh, pop fandom. You keep me on my toes.

I think I'll do just that. *basks and clings to your icon*

From what little I read and remember of it, it seems to be. You'd think a fandom would only have room for one epic film nour AU though, no? But then, popslash has broken a really lot of the rules, so who's to say? *g* Thank you for the link - it's a very intriguing idea and seems well-written.

From what I remember (I'm not super into HP anymore, that was the most well known noir au). But there are a bunch of others. Another famous one is Faster Mudblood, Kill Kill which is sort of AUish. There's also Snatch - once again sort of AUish.

The annoying thing about all of these stories is that they are all abandoned wips. The HP fandom is notorious for that and it just drives me nuts. So be aware, wip!

From: [identity profile] gjstruthseeker.livejournal.com
Wow. Those HP kids keep busy, eh?

And wait, waitwaitwait, all abandoned WIPs?! *runs screaming for the hills* I don't remember what story I was reading that burned me so very badly (or maybe it was that minor ulcer I got waiting and hoping Sleep While I Drive [in Smallville] would see the light of day), but my only policy in stories is that they be finished. *heaves a heavy sigh* So sad. How unfinished is this story? Becaue dude, film noir detective AU! How do you set a bunny like that back afield? *weeps*

All abandoned WIPs. It's really quite pathetic. Malfoy, P.I. hasn't been updated in 15 months, so I am assuming it is dead dead dead. There are some huge WIPs that do get updated on a regular basis (like Underwater Light, best story of all time), but yeah, I've reached the point where the story has to be either finished or consistantly updated.

On the other hand, Sleep While I Drive has been finished for a long time. Are you sure you're not thinking of 72 hours? I think Jenn has given up on that one forever. She's working on trying to finish The Yard now.

*Sigh* Now I feel the urge to go reread Somewhere I Have Never Travelled.

From: [identity profile] gjstruthseeker.livejournal.com
So very sad. I'll keep an eye out for Underwater Light, but the WIP policy is absolute, all-or-nothing. But thanks for the tip.

*g* I was in the fandom when SWID was a WIP in the column of Jenn's blog. I didn't realize/care at the time, because I made the mistake of reading a couple of sentences and since that day, my love for that story has known no bounds at all.

Somewhere I Have Never Traveled? One of my big weaknesses is for traveling fics.

And okay, this is getting ridiculous. *goes off to make an HP icon*

From: [identity profile] nonchop.livejournal.com
Underwater Light is totally going to be finished. Maya updates on a completely consistant basis, and I think she is nearing the end soon. It's huge and hilarious and wrenching and gripping and when it's done I'll totally let you know.

Somewhere I Have Never Travelled is actually a future-fic where Clark chooses to become human. I think it's my favorite Jenn story by a magnitude of a million.

Anyway, because I feel like I am spamming your comments list here feel free to check me out on AIM and I will happily rec you a whole bunch of great hp fics or whatever.

I all but stopped reading in Smallville pretty much after Challenge weekend back in 2002. *g* Arrived at the hotel ready to spend an extended weekend with a good friend and meet two new ones and oh, by the way, go to some celebrity basketball game hosted by *NSYNC. They worked me over in about six hours flat. Which is about how hard and fast I'd fallen for Smallville that same April, and while it still retains a very special place in my heart (besides being my first slash fandom), it was really no contest. There was a time when I was completely caught up on the Slash Archive, but now, I wouldn't even know where to begin, though Te and Jenn are the two I'd venture back for. *saves SIHNT*

Oh, please don't feel like you're spamming. I actually can't get AIM to work on this computer after the latest update, so that's a useless venue until late August. Please, have at me with the good HP recs! [livejournal.com profile] saturn_92103, [livejournal.com profile] walkingshadow, and [livejournal.com profile] eleanor_lavish and I had a great rec session just last night, but I'm always ready for more as only fools and those with very strong stomachs read in that fandom without them.
